A Summer Time

Chapter James

James was sitting under the biggest tree of the park, reading a book while his snitch flew around him, its little buzzing sound quite audible. He had finished the end of the year Defence Against The Dark Arts exam before everybody else since he just excelled at it. Even though there was still the Charms exam tomorrow on the last day of school, James wasn't studying for it but reading instead some adventure book.

In fact, he didn't worry for tomorrow. He was just way too good at Charms to do that. Well, he was just too good at everything.

He turned the page. The only thought that stayed on his mind other than the story was the sadness he felt towards leaving the school soon…leaving his friends behind…

Though, he knew he'd see Moony and Wormtail… He wasn't too sure about Padfoot… Not that they hated each other; on the contrary! They were best friends! But the thing was Sirius' mother… She was mean and insane. She almost never authorized him to see anyone…

''That's surely another way to show her…disappointment towards him for being in Gryffindor.'' He thought as he turned another page.

James was so drawn into his book that he didn't hear feet ruffling the grass near him. It was only when he heard a ''hey!'' close to him (which made James jump, his book almost falling from his hands and the golden snitch became quite turbulent. It was as if it followed James' feelings.) He quickly turned his head and saw Sirius, as beautifully delinquent as ever and smiling.

''Hi! Hey hey! How are you?'' asked James, all smiling in an tight embrace.

''Ah, I'm fine, I'm fine! You know…better than Wormtail though.'' Sirius said, looking at the snitch (which had now calmed down) but not taking it because he knew how James could get mad since it was HIS beloved golden snitch and his only.

Yeah, James was that macho. Though Sirius had the power to complain and be the only one (when he was fed up) to succeed into getting James to put it away in his pockets.

''Haha. Yeah. He's soooo good at Defence… That's why he just couldn't keep shaking this morning. Haha!'' James replied.

They sat there for quite a while, chit-chatting about nothing and everything. But then, suddenly, James' eyes opened wide as an idea hit him.

''Hey! You could come at MY house this summer!'' he exclaimed with a huge smile on his face.'' Pack your bags, go home, and in two weeks, come at mine! How is it?''

James' smile was just glued to his face and he was radiant.
