Take comfort, knowing that I love you

The song is from the television show The Tribe, I don't know who wrote it. Legolas and Aragorn are not mine, I'm just borrowing them again. Once again, not beta'd, all mistakes are mine alone.

Is there a place for me
And tell me, where do we go from here?

Aragorn sat silently by the fire, his eyes on the Elf who stood across the way. Legolas looked like one of the statues of Rivendell, moonlight graced the places of his upturned face as the Elf listened to the sounds of the nighttime forest. He's so beautiful. Aragorn thought. So perfect.

Take me as you find me
For what I am
And when I make mistakes
Please understand
And as long as I know you're near
There is nothing for me to fear.

But I am not. I'm rough, clumsy, so unworthy of his affection. The ranger tore his eyes away from the gentle being and glanced over the sleeping forms of the others of the company. How can he love me when I have failed so miserably? I couldn't save Gandalf and I have not the wisdom to lead.


Out of the darkness

Movement caught his attention and Aragorn looked up to see a star burning a path across the sky. The ranger shivered, leaning closer to the flames. It was not cold that shook him, it was despair and fear.

Just believe in yourself, you'll see.

Arms closed around his shoulders and he leaned into the embrace. Words were not needed, he was strengthened by the love that emanated from the slender body, soothed by the luminescence that surrounded the Elf's smooth skin.

Aragorn sighed, it was contentment not weariness that brought forth the sound. How is it

that this frail looking creature can be so much stronger than any Man?


And as long as I know you're near
There is nothing for me to fear.

How is it that he can make me stronger just by his touch? The ranger settled back into the Elf's arms, sleep crept over the man and Legolas smiled.
