Hermione's Story
Hermione is home in the summer holidays when the mail comes. She runs downstairs to get the mail. She finds a letter for herself. She goes to the den to pen it. In the letter it says something about Hogwarts School for Witchcraft and Wizardry. Hermione tells her parents about the letter. Her mother tells her to go down and tell her friend Mandy Brocklehurst that she can't go to school with her. When Hermione gets to Mandy's house Mandy told Hermione that they couldn't go to school together. Hermione asked Mandy what school she was going to. Mandy answered Hogwarts. Hermione was amazed and said that she was going there also.

On the train Mandy and Hermione had a compartment to themselves. When Hermione went to help Neville look for his toad, Mandy went to another compartment so she wouldn't be alone.

At Hogwarts Hermione was telling Mandy all the spells she had learned and wondered which one she would need. At the sorting Mandy put the hat on, and was sorted into Ravenclaw, and ran to that table. When it was Hermione's turn, she was sorted into Gryffindor. Both the girls were upset. But Hermione was glad that she was in Gryffindor and made friends fast.
