Drabble 1. Rainy Days
The rain drizzled down softly, colouring the world in greyish tones. The occasional splash of colour besides her dull looking roses was the raincoats of people walking by in an attempt to get out of the wet into their dry homes. Kyohaku Toshiko, however, was quite content to sit outside under the roof of her porch and listen to the tip-taps as she read the newest novel to add to her collection. This time, it was a romance novel, bought for her by her roommate, who was pretty much the same age as she was.
Of course, there was also their guardian, but she never really gave a damn for that wretched being. Okay, that was really over the top. Udou Akira did care a fair bit for the two Storm Riders placed under his care by Simca. He wasn't very pleased about it, but he gave in after seeing the female of the two in a bad way, sorely beaten after yet another defeat. Taking Toshiko in was probably the worst thing he could have done. Koko-chan, as Nue affectionately called her, was prone to the typical teenage angst that came with the mood swings. But he put up with it, and eventually turned his sow's ear into a silk purse, as the saying went.
Said silk purse looked up at the sound of familiar humming. Nue was back. Grinning, she dropped the book onto the vacant spot beside her on the love seat and snatched an umbrella. Opening it, she pranced out to the gate, which was kind of hard on ATs, and covered the head of her soaked roommate. Dark blue eyes met childish green ones and smiled.
"Thanks, Koko. I forgot mine."
"Your welcome."
