"You puzzle me," I say and stare down at the bard as if challenging her. She looks up, surprised and quickly corrects her clothes. She had apparently been cleaning herself, hoping that in the forest she would find some privacy. Of course she hadn't heard me coming, silent as a wolf who knows the forest well.

"What are you talking about?" She asks and meets my gaze with confidence. We haven't talked properly since that one kiss and I can see that she wonders why I am there. I don't know myself, it would be better for us both if I simply stayed away. But I couldn't. I can't.

"You are such a hypocrite," I continue and try to pour as much venom in my voice as possible, "you claim to believe in what the chantry stands for and defends it, but then you deny one of its main points. You believe that the maker talks to you, yet the chantry claims the maker does not listen, 'tis clear that you are very sure of your own specialness. You annoyingly claim to believe in fairness and you beg our companions not to kill yet you love killing and you believe your work as a bard was but a game. Your hypocrisy would almost be touching if it wasn't for your stupidity."

I can see that she has started shaking. Out of anger I assume and I open my mouth to keep going.

"Is that so?" She interrupts me and stands up, "Really, Morrigan, witch of the wilds, are you so very different? You claim to be free, yes? Yet you have stayed with your mother all these years, never daring to leave her side. You claim to know everything and everyone, but I saw sadness in your eyes when you decided to have your mother killed, you had not believed that your mother was capable of such cruelty. You want to push everyone and everything away, yet you have always played the part of obedient daughter very well. Always been your mother's little girl, never leaving her side… and that is just it, isn't it. You felt safe with her because the truth of the matter is, the world outside scares you."

That is when I slap her, and leave her with quick angry steps. Stupid bard, I should have known better than talking with you.
