Chapter 1: Plan of Betrayal

It was the Angel Vida's 18th birthday, March 23, 1717. She was the most fierce vampire hunter the Vida witches had. She had never failed to kill her enemies—the vampires. In a few moments, she would be declared as head of the all the witches-the youngest leader too! Angel doesn't let in any distractions and some people say she doesn't have a soul-which made her the best. She is fearless and she knows it. She also knows everything her people talk about, especially about her. She knows everything that is going on, in not only her own clan, but everywhere else in the world as well. People will travel far and wide to get advice from the 'almighty Angel', and her sister, Jade, hated it!

Jade Vida is second in command after Angel. If she ever died, Jade would be leader. The thing about Jade is that she is the youngest of the family. She doesn't have any say in anything that comes around-even if it involves her. Her life has already been planned out, just like every other vida child.

At sixteen, Jade is a beautiful, blond deprived princess. With her Sapphire blue eyes and her tall form and just the right curves, guys praised her. She wasn't as powerful as her sister, but she knew how to fight a good fight and was more flirty and curious when it comes to guys.

Jade, for instance, loves to mess with guys; she has always been the more outgoing sister, while Angel is serious barely even tolerates guys. Jade and Angel were complete opposites, except in power—they both want power!

That night, Jade had a plan. Recently, she had befriended a couple of vampires while she had been out on her hunt. That was completely against Vida law. Jade made a deal with the vampires-she gets turned and then she will help them get more power. It was the easiest deal she had ever made. Once she was powerful enough, she planned to kill her sister.

Jade headed into the ceremony room. Let's go celebrate the wonderful Angel some more! Jade was full of sarcastic thoughts like that. She was just sick and tired of all the power praise her sister got.

"Hey Jade, baby! What's up with you?" A voice behind her greeted her.

"What do you want now, Cage?" Jade asked.

"Just wanted to see what's up and come to see if you changed your mind about us; because you so know that we are meant to be, baby!" Cage said with a wink and a smile. Cage is on of the many obsessive admirers Jade had. Cage was the most annoying of the bunch. He always thought they were meant to be and all that lovey-dovey shit, but Jade knew better.

"When are you ever going to believe me when I tell you that there is no us? There is never going to be an us!" Jade made her way to the front of the room; she was the daughter of the leader now, so she is always in front. Her mother stood up and walked to the podium to make her farewell speech.

"Welcome everyone! Thank you all for coming. This will be…" Jade stopped listening after that. She was tired of hearing her mother bragging about Angel, but never her. It was like she never had her-like she didn't exist. She hated it with a passion. That was why she had the perfect plan.
