Summary: Booster + dead Ted + time machine ???
come on!
Will it work?
it has to
but...what if I miscalculated something...if I made a mistake
I´m not going to screw this up
What if I fail?
Booster stood beside the Blue Beetle. No, not his friend Ted. Ted was dead. Blue Beetle III was still a kid. His name was Jaime. Looking at the kid made Booster a bit happy...but also sadder than he had ever been.
Ted´s legace...Dan Garret´s legacy was carried on. There was a Blue Beetle still there. But whenever he looked at the blue armor, at the scarab´s sign...he wanted break down and cry. Ted wasn´t there anymore. He was gone, because Booster had failed him.
What if Booster had managed not to be hit by this stupid lightning?
What if he had this Checkmate thing figured out earlier?
What if...
Enough What If-s!!! It had taken Booster lots of time, his persuasion skills and two freak-outs before Rip finally aggreed to it. They would change the past...they would save Ted. He would save Ted.
Jaime and he waited before the time machine as Rip adjusted the last configuration.
Rip cleared his throat: "Booster, are you sure-" Booster cut him off, expression dead-serious. "Never have been MORE sure of anything," he told Rip.
Rip sighed. "Fine. But don´t say I didn´t warn you if something goes wrong. You know that someone is messing with-"
"I know. Do it."
Booster went back to the point of time where Ted would die. When Max raised the gun...
there was a blur of yellow and a voice growling. "Rot in Hell, Max!"
What Max didn´t expect was Booster Gold. Max was sure Booster was in the hospital. He cursed himself for not calculating in a time-traveler.
What Max also didn´t expect was a guy in a blue alien-armor...with Beetle´s insignia on his chest.
What Ted didn´t expect was Dan Garret. "It´s gonna be alright, Ted. I promise."
