Ummm, I wrote this...Just because...Be cool and leave a review.
Seto Kaiba stands before me. At first I just let him into my home, offer him something to drink, he sits down, accepts the drink, and thereby it is silent.
One of the top Duelists in the world is in my home, but the normalcy of the whole thing isn't light. Unlike most people, I am not jumping up and down. I keep track of the competitions and the people involved. I do not compete. I am just a collector, with a vast collection of cards.
"I'll get straight to the point. You have the egyptian god cards."
I blink, going through my mental index. There was Gate Guardian. Five pieces of Exodia. Exodia Necross. There is five god dragon, but I don't think Kaiba is referring to this either. There are the two cards Relinquished and Thousand Eye Restrict, which could be considered such cards-absorbing monsters and gaining the attack and defense points thereof.
Kaiba was a little too specific. So, I just get my binders-about five of them. All pitch black in color. These have my best and rare cards. One in particular has many of my rare cards.
It takes almost an hour, but Kaiba finally points out the cards he mentioned before. Three of them. They are in the same binder that my five pieces of Exodia and Exodia Necross are in. The same binder as my Gate Guardian. As my Blue Eyes Shining Dragon.
"These." Kaiba's fingers on the cards. "I need these."
Horror dawns on me. "That is not happening."
This man may be a CEO and whatever else, but it will be a cold day in hell before I give up any of my cards. The long hours and everything else spent collecting them for over a decade, would all go to waste. I can't allow that to happen, and I am very attached to my cards.
I will not give them up for anything.
"Obelisk The Tormenter. Slifer The Sky Dragon. The Winged Dragon Of Ra..."
I flip to the next sleeve. "I have the card The Winged Dragon Of Ra-Sphere Mode right here. And I have the card The Winged Dragon of Ra-Immortal Phoenix."
"I need those cards. All of them."
I shut the binder. "That will never happen."
Kaiba's eyes narrow-there is a glint in them. Something like being so close to immortality, but it was just out of reach and no matter what you did, you couldn't grasp it. I do not think this man will harm me, but that doesn't mean Kaiba will be pleasant anymore.
In fact, he is known for his lack of being pleasant.
I've been lucky so far.
"You don't understand. The whole fate of the world is at stake."
The statement just sounds so loaded to me I can't even take it serious. Maybe to Kaiba Dueling is the world, but there is no way the whole world is at risk of harmless cards. It also by no means-means that I am giving Kaiba my rare cards-I will bite off his hands!
Truth be told I wouldn't give Kaiba any of my cards.
"You have all of these cards!"
"I am a collector, Kaiba. I've never had an interest in dueling."
He growls at me-there it is. Kaiba is going into shark mode.
"I need those cards."
"My rare cards are off limits and that includes all of them."
Tension grows when Kaiba sips his coffee. I believe it could be in a bid to control his growing annoyance and frustration at not getting what he wants.
"You have no idea what you are getting involved in. This is before our time."
"And, you want my cards. You are not getting my cards. Do not even ask for my Blue Eyes Shining Dragon or any of my Fusion Monsters. I mean no disrespect, but I spent years collecting these cards. I am just a humble collector, but I take pride in what I have. I am attached to those cards."
Kaiba nods, appearing picture perfect.
"And I can respect and understand that-you have the Blue Eyes...So I think we are similar in some regards. I will not be leaving without those cards."
"I guess you will have to see your way out." I nod to the door, gesturing towards it with my hand.
Knowing it is useless to go any further, right now, at least, Kaiba gets up and moves for the door. "I will be back to see if you are coming to your senses."
"And, I will keep saying no."
