Zombie Awakes

"Eh... Aren't you suppose to be dead?" Wufei mumbled into the sun and at Treize. It was early morning and Wufei had just fallen asleep after a long and tiring double shift at the Preventers when there had been a knock at the door.

"Well... yes, but I'm here now!" Treize smiled, and Wufei blinked. Partly from the sunspots forming in his eyes and partly from the shock.

"I'm dreaming, aren't I?" A smirk grew across Treize's face until a fist connected with his gut. "You feel real. That's strange. But," Wufei brought his hand to his face and sniffed. "You smell really off."

"Hmph! I can't imagine what you would smell like after ten years in a grave but it certainly would not be like roses!" Treize brushed past Wufei, "And anyway, I can't smell a thing so it can't be that bad!"

Still thinking he was dreaming, Wufei merely nodded and went into the kitchen. It was time to pull out the hard stuff, opening the fridge it opened a fresh carton of orange juice and drank without a glass. If he was dreaming, then no one would ever know. Perfect. Wufei momentarily forgot that he lived alone.

"You know, now that I think of it... It is a bit weird that I can't smell..." He eyed Wufei's head. "I feel the desire to rip your head off your neck, but," he shrugged, "It's not that bad."

Wufei choked on his orange juice and gasped. The finer details he hadn't noticed came into the detail. The pale, pasty grey skin. The green, slimy lips and the yellowing eyes. Treize's hair was patchy and clumps were making their way slowly to his immaculate floor. It hurt him to see them touch his clean surface.

"Treize. I think - "

"Hmm, the urge is growing on me. I feel eating... something like," Treize frowned and Wufei froze, "Like... what do you call it? The things that are grey and mushy in your head?"

"Brains...?" Wufei whispered hoarsely.

"Yeah!" Treize said, snapping his fingers. There was a long slow moment before he turned and gazed at Wufei with a steady and almost hungry look, "So..."

Slamming the door of the still open fridge in Treize's face, Wufei sighed with relief as the zombie crumpled to the floor. Chugging down another gulp of pulpy juice, Wufei sighed, "Heh, I have the strangest dreams..." Treize twitched. Wufei poked him in the stomach with his big toe.

"No more of Duo's coffee." He said, nodding his determinedly. He leaned against the kitchen counter. "It would be more interesting if I woke up or something..."

Nothing happened. Wufei looked down at the body. Then at his hand. Body again. "Er..."
