A man and his straw hat.

"Oi! That's a nice ship!"

Rayleigh cracked an eyelid open and paused mid-sip on his sake. He had been on the edge of sleep, thanks to the quiet afternoon breeze that had been shattered by that declaration.

A declaration aimed at him, which seemed to be more of a complement than an insult.

Yeah right, Rayleigh thought. A ship? This is a dingy fisherman's boat! Was this guy mocking him?

"I stole it. My house burned down so now I'm living here."

"I see. And what's your name?"

Rayleigh blinked. That it? No suspicions? No questions where he was from, or accusations of stealing? This man, he mused. Nothing to be lost if he played along though.

"Rayleigh"

"I'm Roger. I think we were destined to meet, Rayleigh!"

"Destined?" Okay, he did not expect that. He was starting to think the other one lost it.

"Do you what to turn the world upside down with me?"

Yep. He lost it. "Huh? The world?" A chuckle. Rayleigh couldn't help himself. The man was just funny. "Who are you and where you from? Go away." Too bad the man was a lost cost.

"You're ship is small, but it looks like it can endure storms if you handle it right. It's the perfect ship for us to sail in!" Rayleigh was truly amused. This man, deciding all for himself what to do at what is to be done with no consideration whatsoever for others around him. A truly selfish man. Or could it be his determination? In this world, there is just too thin a line that separates stupidity and resolve.

"Us? Set sail? Don't decide for me. Why should I join you?" Yes. This was to crazy. Why would he go along with such a mad man? It was these kind of guys that would be scorned upon the world, the kind who die early chasing so called dreams. Insane man indeed. But also free.

"Like I said, to turn the world upside down. Alright, it's time to set sail, Rayleigh!" It was probably the smile that won him over. A smile that shone brighter than the sun, and left no room for darkness whatsoever. A smile that said it is time to live.
