He was free. Free from the clutches of Cipher. He had his own free will; he could do whatever he liked. Shadow Lugia flew across the star strewn sky, over the ocean and admired the beauty of the moon as it shone brightly against the ebony sky. He chuckled to himself quietly, closing his ruby eyes and nodding his head. Cipher were fools to think they could ever control me. I will do what I want, when I want. I have my free will, and nobody shall ever take that from me. He thought to himself, thinking back on the past that haunted him. His eyes shot open, hearing an ear splitting roar and then a massive splash nearby. He watched in curiosity and amazement as a white and blue beast shot upwards from underneath the water and unfurled its wings, illuminated by moonlight. Shadow Lugia suddenly realised what exactly he was looking at. He was looking at...Himself. He froze to the spot, hovering silently in mid air. Another me? That's impossible! He told himself, shaking his head. The other seemed to notice him as well and its eyes widened in disbelief. "Who are you?!" They asked in unison. Before the other could object, Shadow Lugia snarled, "I asked you first!". The other one sighed, not wanting to argue. "My name is Lugia. I am the beast of the sea." It paused, glaring at Shadow Lugia. "Now. You answer me! Who are you and why do you look exactly like me?!" Lugia growled. Shadow Lugia opened his mouth to say something, but quickly shut it. That is a good question. Who am I? He pondered to himself. Who was he? A corrupted experiment? Was he...this Pokémon's clone? He shook his head, refusing to believe he was either of those things. He glared at his counterpart as he came up with what he believed to be a suitable answer. "I...Am...Darkness." He roared, charging up a Shadow Blast, and then firing it at the other. Lugia saw it coming and dodged, flying away. "Hey!" He screeched. "What was that for!?" He glanced over his shoulder to see the dark one following in pursuit. "Simple." Shadow Lugia answered with a snarl. "There can only be ONE". Lugia groaned, not wanting to fight his new found enemy. He tucked in his wings, and dove downwards, into the ocean below. "Coward!" Shadow Lugia screeched, doing the same and disappearing beneath the waves.

For those of you that don't understand, The 'Shadow Lugia' is from Pokémon: Gale Of Darkness. His codename is XD001, the XD standing for 'Extra Darkness', which is why he says in this fic that he is darkness.
