The letter

Dear MS. Forest:

We are writing to inform you that you have been accepted into the Lumiose School of Guide Pokémon. You are to arrive on May 1st 2016. An LSGP employee will meet you in front of the south Pokémon Center at 6:00 PM, sharp.

We look forward to meeting you and rest assured that our field representative spoke highly of your capabilities. Attached is a list of things you will need to bring for your visit at our school. If you have any further questions, please don't hesitate to give us a call or email.

Thank you,

Shaun Draxton: Head instructor, department of training

With trembling hands, she closes the email app; Madison sets her phone down. Her heart thumps in her throat. Thoughts swirl around in her head.

"Oh man," she whispers. "Wow."

What will my new Mon be like? How will we get along? What if the trainers think I can't handle it? She presses her shaking hands together and takes a long breath.

Okay, no matter what, you will give it your all and if it's meant to work out it will. God, I sure hope I get a growlithe. Just the thought of having a cuddly, wiggly puppy pokémon brings a grin to her face. Its enough to drowned the fears for the moment.

"Augh yeah!" She stands up and knocks her chair back.

It has been the longest 3 months of her life, but the waiting paid off. She made it. She will meet her first ever pokémon partner soon.

"I'll show them, I'll be the very best, like no one ever was."

AN: Yes, that was, indeed, an intentional cheesy rewording from the Pokémon anime theme song. I couldn't help myself; it was too fun! I hope you enjoy this journey of a blind pokémon trainer. I have some personal experience with a blind person and her guide dog, so I will be as true to a visually impaired person's experiences as I can be.

Feedback is welcome. I have no beta, so if you're interested, shoot me a pm. I really want to make this the best story I can, so if you have suggestions please pass them my way. I love writing, but I am not always the best at catching my mistakes.
