Current Music Track: Evening Sky
Based on: 'Gymnopédies No.1' by Eric Satie
I walked through the streets of Tomanbetsu City's Central Boulevard after walking Shiratori home.
So I'm stuck watching stars with her tomorrow huh?
How boring.
Still it might not be so bad…
But I don't have time to think of that now.
Too much time has been wasted already.
I push thoughts of Shiratori aside for now as I head home.
…

Current Music Track: White Night
Based on: 'Suite Bergamasque ~ Clair de Lune' by Debussy
Almost immediately upon me returning home, my phone starts ringing.
"Azai-san?"
It's Usami.
"Yes? What is it?"
Is this about 'Maou'?
I'm not in the mood for her games.
"Can…can I come over?..."
Her tone is distant. She sounds deep in thought about something.
"… Sure"
I decide to let her in, in the hopes I can keep it quick.
…
So, a short while later, Usami buzzes up and I let her in.
"…"
"…"
"What?"
"What?!"
I decide to cut to the chase.
"Why are you here?"
"Well…you see, the thing is…"
She doesn't sound like her usual, disgusting self.
Current Music Track: Love
Based on: 'Piano Sonata No.8 in C Minor, Op. 13 ~ Second Movement' by Beethoven
"… I just wanted to see you…to make sure you're alright…"
"Why wouldn't I be?..."
OK. Something is SERIOUSLY going on here.
"Well, the date..."
The date? What about it?
"… I thought you might want some company…"
I become aware of a pounding in my ears that I believe is my heart.
I ignore her and check the date.

… No.
How could I have forgotten?
How could she know?
Why?... I…
I can't think… My mind is going numb.
The Pounding becomes more erratic.
10 years ago today, my sister died.
Argh…
I feel as though my heart is trying to blow up a hundred balloons.
I open my mouth to speak but no sound will come.
"Azai-san?..."
My mind is beginning to blur…
Usami?
How did you know about Kiyomi?
"Azai-San?!"
Suddenly, the pounding in my ears suddenly stopped.
My eyes shoot open and I fall to the ground.
"Kyousuke-san!"
Everything begins to go black.
So this is how I die, huh?
I can almost hear the king of beasts laughing at me for such a pitiful death.
I'm sorry, mother.
Before I slip away completely, the last sensation I'm aware of is what sounds like the voice of my Hero.
Pity. We met again too late, Hero…
Author's note:
I'm aware it's really short and that it probably isn't very good, but I decided it was in interesting idea to try. I tried to emulate the game's (The Devil on the G-String) style of narration/dialogue as best I could.
I'm going to work under the pretense that any audience has never played either game (obviously false, but still.), in other words, any spoilers (like, ANYTHING about 'Maou') will be dealt with over the course of this fanfic, so if you're gonna review, please don't spoil it.
