Hey! SWChica2005 here! Another B/A fanfic for you:
Here is another one of my takes of the post-Angel and post-Buffy reunion of our star-crossed heroes. This one is a poem and I worked hard on it...well after it kinda flowed completely from my head onto paper. Enjoy! Comments and reviews wanted! Please say something!
Searching
Darkness sweeps in like a cloak
As she takes to the streets
The Man in the moon is her only friend tonight
For all of her loved ones couldn't possibly understand
She walks alone down now familiar empty streets
Searching
Always searching
Searching for her place in the world
Her life is an endless battle against the Darkness,
Around her and inside of her
The moon casts a shadow across her beautiful face
As her silky yellow hair blows in the midnight wind
She feels so alone even when she is surrounded by people
She is searching
Always searching
Searching to find the feeling of love she lost years ago
He has gone away to another city
Their forbidden love creating an endless chasm between them
She had pushed him further and further away from her
As she tired to move on but her love for him always remains
Does he feel the same way for her?
Is he searching
Always searching
For a way to move on with his life without her?
She turns down another darkened street
The streetlamp blinking on then off, on then off
The long lost tingling in her stomach flares to life
A strange feeling after having been dormant for so long
At first she is confused
But then she's searching
Always searching
And there he was, standing in the shadows cast by the light
She gasps as her stomach fills with fluttering butterflies
Moving closer to him is like walking through mud
His mahogany eyes follow her every movement
He steps into the light and his strong body is illuminated
Only a few feet separate them now instead of miles
Her eyes fill with tears thought to be gone from her body
She had cried for so long for so many things
Her heart swelling with love that had never disappeared
His soulful eyes are full of sorrow
And he is searching
Always searching
Searching her face, her eyes, her nose, her lips
Lips he must have longed to kiss since the day he walked away
They had been through so much together and individually
A single tear slides down her cheek
His hand immediately brushes it away, lingering
Their connection sparks as though it never died away
Should she let him in again?
Could he bear what weighed down her soul?
But she was searching
Always searching
Searching for someone to fill the void in her heart
And here he stood before her, hands trembling in the moonlight
The same way she felt her entire body tremble
It feels like an eternity since they have been together
Dropping her shields, she reaches out and grabs him
Laying her head on his broad chest
She hears an odd sound: his heartbeat
She doesn't want the sound to ever go away
So she stands as still as a statue
His hand tilts her chin up and she looks into his eyes
Intense green meeting chocolate brown
Searching
Always searching
For the flicker of love they once shared
The love that still burns in each of their rapidly beating hearts
She can see the love in his eyes
"I have been searching for you," he whispers
Her laugh comes out a choked sob
He silences her with a long and deep kiss
And all of her fears are washed away
She is no longer searching
For she was found
