"Oh Severus…" Hermione whispered looking at the gash on her husband's head. "What happened?" She brought her hand up to inspect the nasty looking gash.

"Some people apparently don't care that the ministry cleared me of all charges. I'm nothing but monster that killed Albus Dumbledore to them." Severus shrugged it off, but Hermione could see the pain lurking deep behind her husbands eyes.

"You aren't a monster Severus," She said. "you are a very good man. A man who was willing to give up his life to spy for the Order!" She exclaimed. "I don't understand why people do this! You've been through enough Hell already! You don't need this on top of it all!" She ranted, unaware that her husband was gently guiding them to their living quarters.

"It's alright love…." He whispered. It's not like I don't deserve it…. Severus thought.

"No!" Hermione exclaimed loudly. "It's not ok, and you don't deserve it!" Somehow she had always been able to tell what he was truly thinking. "I am going to-to UGH!" She screeched. Suddenly she seemed to remember why she was angry in the first place.

"Oh my goodness Severus!" She gently pushed him down into his favorite armchair and pulled out her wand. "Episkey." She whispered. Hermione watched as the gash healed then pressed a soft kiss to the scar.

Hermione sighed, "When is this all going to end?" she whispered. Severus wrapped his arms around her waist and she rested her forehead against his.

"I don't know." He responded truthfully. They sat like that for a long time, staring into each other's eyes; both lost in their own thoughts.
