Diane sung at the local karaoke bar that the relief had attended for a charity event. It had been Reg's idea and it had seemed like a good idea originally. Although Nikki hadn't expected it to bring back so many memories. Diane had also not realised that she would be singing this song.

Nikki knew that she would always be in love with Diane, but what could she do. When she had been given that ultimatum by Doug she backed out. She had gone back to Doug. There was a security there. She knew what Doug would provide, yet she had almost immediately regretted it. But what could she do? She had chosen.

Diane finished the song, and as she put the microphone down, her eyes found Nikki's. For one long moment, they maintained contact, and then it was lost. A minute later, Nikki was slipping out the door, unnoticed by everyone but Diane.
