Her Family
It was family that had made her wild, but family that had also brought her back down to earth.
She'd hated her parents and they'd hated her; before high school, they'd disowned her and she'd cut all ties with them. Part of it was what she'd brought upon herself, but when her parents payed next to no attention to her, it was the only way to draw their gaze.
That was before she met Katsuya. Before she fell in love, eventually marrying him. Before she gave birth to a beautiful baby girl. Before she had a new family: a family full of the love she'd spent her childhood dreaming about and her adolescence chasing after.
When she lost Katsuya, it was the rest of her family, little Tohru, which kept her grounded and sane. When she died, it was Tohru she worried about.
She'd almost forgotten about her parents by then, because they hadn't felt like a family to her at all.
