A/N: In this story, Karen left Lucas with Dan and Deb so Lucas acts practically the same as Nathan did in the beginning and Nathan hasn't changed yet. Lucas and Nathan do everything together. Lucas is going out with Peyton and Nathan is going out with Brooke. Haley is a social outcast, she'll fit in with the story. Deb always goes on business trips just like the beginning of the show. Dan had another kid, Chance Scott, with another woman and he is practically in Lucas's position in the real show. He is best friends with Haley.
"Nate, party at the beach house tonight?" Lucas asked.
"As always." Nathan said. "Let's get to practice."
"Alright boys, we have a new player, starting lineup, his name is Chance Scott." Whitey said.
"You gotta be kidding, right coach?" Nathan and Lucas said simultaneously.
"No, I'm not." Whitey said. In the locker room after practice after Chance left Nathan and Lucas kept the other boys.
"Guys, you with us, I mean, this kid comes and steals a spot at the starting line up when some of you guys have been here 4 years and haven't gotten any game time and he hasn't even ever been on this team." Lucas said.
"Yeah." the team shouted.
"Then let the games begin." Nathan said. At the game the next night, Lucas and Nathan exchanged the "Scott" nametag on his back with one that says "Bastard", when he went on the court, the kids on the team and from school started laughing. Haley ran down and pulled the nametag off.
"Got your girlfriend protecting you?" Lucas laughed. (A/N: As you can see, it is Lucas that is doing most of the torturing.)
"Lucas, Nathan, you two are benched, so if you like, you can go home." Whitey yelled. "Come on coach, it was just a prank." Lucas said.
"Fine, but don't do another one in my presence." Whitey said.
"Thanks coach." Lucas said. They won the game that night. Lucas decided a way to get to Chance. He would get close to this "Haley James" girl. Nathan thought it was a great idea. So, that night, he called Haley. "Hello, is Haley James there?"
"This is her." Haley said.
"Um... this is Lucas Scott, you're my tutor." Lucas said.
"No, I can't tutor you." Haley said.
"Why?" Lucas asked. Haley hung up. Later that night she walked over Lucas's mansion.
"I'll tutor you on two conditions." Haley said.
"Anything." Lucas said.
"One: Chance doesn't find out. Two: You and your brother leave him alone." Haley said.
"Deal." Lucas said.
"Meet me at the docks 7 am tomorrow morning." Haley said.
"See you there." Lucas said. He had an idea to set her up with Tim, he liked Peyton to much to do that to her. After their next game, he went over to Chance. "Hey, party tonite at me and Nate's beach house for the team."
"Why are you telling me?" Chance asked.
"I said the team, didn't I?" Lucas said.
