Okay so I've always loved the movie Karan Arjun and this is sort of a prequel to that. What if the real reason that Durjan Singh murdered his brother was not for money? I'm naming Karan and Arjun's father Aman. And even though this isn't really a movie, this is who I imagine as their younger selves. This will be told in small drabbles.

Aditya Pancholi as Durjan Singh

Aamir Khan as Aman Singh

Madhuri Dixit as Durga

1. Only Mine

Jumping over log after log, Durga rode her horse through the stables. It was something she enjoyed and in their small village, the only excitement. She was considered both bold and beautiful. Bold, because she didn't always wear a sari with a veil over her head and beautiful because most boys in their village of Malakhera wanted to marry her. This included Durjan Singh, the son of Thakur Kaka.

"Wow, aaj kuch zada hi josh hai," [Wow, you have a lot of spirit today] Durjan said smiling as he moved towards her.

Durga jumped off the horse. "Kya karein? Romeo ko ride karne main maza hi itna hai." [What to do? There is so much fun in riding Romeo.] She smiled. "Vaise Thakur ji aapke bare bhai kab laut ke aayein ge shehr se." [By the way Mr. Thakur, when is your older brother coming from the city?]

Durjan's face fell and his fist clenched behind his back. "Kyun harwaqt us ke barein me pooch ti rehti ho. Hum main koi kami hai kya?" [Why are you always asking about him? Do we lack anything?]

Durga giggled. "Nahi, bas tora yaad ata hai. Hum teenon bachpan ke dhost hain. Ab toh uski chitiyan ana bhi kam ho gayi hain. Mujhe lagta hai ke…" [No, I just miss him a little. The three of us have been friends since childhood. Now even his letters that come have lessened. I feel that…]

Durjan watched as Durga's face saddened at the thought of his brother, Aman and uncomfortable pit filled inside his stomach, one that made him feel as if his whole body was on fire. What did Aman have that he didn't? Durga hadn't seen him in 10 years. Yet whenever his letters came, she would giggle to herself for days and even cry at times for no obvious reasons. What was so special about him? Aman had no right to be making a move on the girl he was in love with…

Nahi…mujhe sabr se kaam lehna pare ga. Warna Durga mujhse door ho jayegi. [No…I will have to be patient. Otherwise I will lose Durga.]

Durjan forced a bright smile on his face. "Tum chinta mat karo. Woh tumhe bhoola nahi hai. In fact, Babooji ke phone se meri us se baat bhi hui hai. Woh kal hi bus se gaon paunch jayega." [You don't worry. He hasn't forgotten you. In fact, I used Father's phone and talked to him. He is arriving tomorrow by bus to our village.]

Durga's face lit up innocently and a beautiful smile graced her features. "Sach? Yeh toh baut achi khabar hai! Thank you Thakur ji!" [Really? That's amazing news! Thank you Mr. Thakur!] In her excitement, she hugged Durjan. "Thank you!"

Durjan smirked, wrapping his own arms around her. His hold wasn't just protective…it was possessive…he was the youngest in his house, he would make sure he always got everything he wanted, including Durga.

Aman, aghar tu ne mere aur Durga ke beech ane ki kaushish ki toh acha nahi hoga. [Aman if you try to get between me and Durga, the consequences won't be good]
