Okay so this is my first story on here and I would like to know if it's any good. Kay, so in this, Cammie and Zach were childhood best friends but they had to take memory tea both became spies but they don't remember each other. Hope you enjoy.
"Hey! What're you doing?!"
Young Cameron Ann Morgan struggled to make her way through the crowd of elementary school students. They all stood in a circle around a boy whom the young girl assumed was the new kid. He was on the ground, clutching his ankle, tears brimming in his eyes. Cameron pushed through the last two kids and came to a crouch by the boy.
He was sure she was going to start calling him names and pushing him around just as the others had, but she didn't. Instead, she smiled kindly down at him, helped him up, and wrapped her arm around his waist as he wrapped his around her neck. She looked around at all the other students and started to glare.
"What're you lookin' at? Get lost!" she shouted at them.
The children cleared a path and Cameron helped the boy hobble off to the nurse's office. The walk there was filled with silence. But once they reached the door to the nurse's office, Cameron spoke up.
"What's your name?" she asked the boy.
"Uh... it's Z-zach," he stuttered, having been caught off guard by the girl actually talking to him.
"Zach," Cameron repeated, "I like that name. I'm Cameron, but most people call me Cammie."
"Well, thanks Cammie," Zach smiled gratefully at her.
"No problem."
They walked into the office of Ms. Betty: school nurse. She was an older woman- fifty maybe- and she sat back in her recliner. Ms. Betty jumped to her feet as soon as she saw them.
"Fighting again, Cameron?" the old nurse questioned.
"No, miss. Zach just got hurt and I was helping him get here," she said and looked down at her feet.
If Zach hadn't actually been injured and needed help getting to the nurse, Cammie sure as heck would've started a fight. No good Tina and her evil followers were most likely the cause of Zach's hurt ankle. But since Cammie had only been paying attention to helping the new kid, she couldn't know for sure.
"Oh, well, let me take a look at that ankle then, boy," Ms. Betty demanded.
Cammie held Zach completely still as he propped his ankle up on a chair. Ms. Betty examined his ankle and after awhile, finally spoke.
"Its nothing too bad. Just twisted a little. All you need to do is keep a little ice on it for the next two hours and it'll be fine."
She gave him a bag of ice and sent the two off to class. As soon as they walked in the teacher glared at them for disrupting class.
"Where were you two?" Ms. Dabney asked suspiciously.
"Nurse's office," Cammie said walking to her seat.
"Another fight, Cameron?" she asked with a raised eyebrow.
"Nope. Zach just hurt his ankle and I was helping him down to the nurse's office," she claimed while sliding into her chair.
"Well, thank you for taking care of that. Zachary, you can sit in the desk next to Cameron."
Zach sat in the chair next to Cammie's and smiled at her.
And she smiled back.
Like I said before, this is my first story. This is just the first part of their background together and the next part should be posted soon. Please please please review. I would really love to know what you all think of it so far!
