He was quiet thoughtful as he ran. The wind blew on my face, warmer now as the storm had already passed. The clods covered the skies the way they usually did.
Edward sighed and came to a sudden halt as we arrived at our meadow. He gently placed me down on the grass and sat next to me holding my warm and soft hand in his hard, cold ones.
"Bella," he murmured in his soft voice," Why did you change your mind so suddenly? Don't tell me that there was no reason. I know you very well so there is no point lying to me." I knew that I had no other way so I decided that honesty was the best policy.
"Yesterday, I spoke to Charlie. He asked me to give him a warning if I was leaving him. I cannot leave him without a valid reason. The wedding will be the perfect closure not only for Charlie but also for Renee and Jacob. Also, this wedding will make Alice and you so happy." I concluded my little rant.
An unrecognisable emotion flitted across Edward's eyes before he managed to compose his face into his usual calm facade. He looked at me and sighed after pulling his fingers through his tousled bronze hair, messing it up more.
"Isabella we will not have a wedding." Edward explained as if he was talking to a small child. I was taken aback. What was he saying? I thought he always wanted this. "But...but why?" I stammered, incoherent.
"I know what you are doing. You are trying to make everyone but yourself happy. I will not allow this to happen. I will do it your way. My way was clearly wrong. I will change you tonight. I am sure that with enough painkillers, it will be worth a try. No one will object except for Alice but she will be happy because you are."
I pondered through his words and realised that this is what I always wanted. I could marry him after I was changed too. I am sure that they could fabricate a fake story for my death. I had already said my goodbyes to Jacob and Renee. I could see Charlie from a distance before Edward changed me. This was the future I was expecting anyway.
I looked at Edward and nodded. He picked me up and slung me over his back like always and took off to our bright future, together.
