Author's Note: Why, hello there. This is my first FF, so bear with me, please. I've been lurking for a while, so I know how everything works, but I will always accept any criticism! Even flames, because if my story was just so bad you had to flame it, I need to know (cue nervous laughter)! Thank you for taking your valuable time to read this and I do hope you enjoy, lovely people! Also, should I expend this into a series of drabbles? Tell me in reviews, thanks!

DISCLAIMERS: The Legend of Korra does not belong to me. Look to the lovely men over there. *points to Bryke*|| The author would like to acknowledge that the idea of Tahno committing suicide was first seen by the author in mgcrtr's story Dirty Wash. Go check it out, it nearly made me cry, it was so beautiful and tragic.

Onward!

Headstones

On a headstone on Air Temple Island, which is just off of Republic City, there reads the following:

HERE LIES TAHNOJANUARY 8 1881 - SEPTEMBER 17 1910

HE WILL ALWAYS BE A WATERBENDER AND PROBENDER IN OUR EYES

RIP

If you enter the boys' dormitory on Air Temple Island, and find your way to a room in which the brothers Mako and Bolin sleep, there's a newspaper clipping from 1910 on the wall that reads the following: Avatar Korra went into the Avatar State today for the first time. However, it seems this particular achievement came with a steep price: an hour after going into the Avatar State, Avatar Korra killed Equalist leader Amon and herself in an explosive duel on the beach at Air Temple Island. The world will forever mourn the loss of its passionate, fiery Avatar, who died at only 17. Rest in peace, Avatar Korra.

Avatar Korra only experienced the freedom of air bending once, in the Avatar State. Former waterbender Tahno died at 19, five minutes before Avatar Korra went into the Avatar State for the first and last time. He did not see the fall of the Equalists, but Avatar Korra kept her promise to him, in killing Amon. A valiant last act, for sure.

SHE DIED KEEPING BALANCE IN THE WORLD. MAY SHE ALWAYS BE REMEMBERED
