The streets of Dublin were slick with blood as I ran toward Cemetery Road. Nothing followed me , the world quiet and empty. I headed to the door screaming for the others to open up but then I turned round , My mind filled with whispers and her ears popped. Behind her were the husks of Tanith Low and Fletcher Renn , both carrying misshapen sacks that they dropped and shook. As I stared in fear at the bodies of my friends I heard their screams through the whispers burning through my brain. I looked at the open bags and screamed and couldn't stop, just screaming and screaming as the melted faces watched. I ran forward to the two bags. In Fletchers was the broken rags and flesh of the palest skin and as I lifted it up out fell the tormented face of the man that I now only knew I loved. The shiny hair now matted the once shining eyes devoid of life and hope. Caelan dead and gone. Forever ... The Body of Tanith had grown impatient with my silent torment and kicked her bag open. My screams had died in my throat as my heart broke because of Caelans...I couldn't even think the word. I have covered in splinters of bone and teeth from the bag and a hat slide to my fingers. I was no longer scared or hurt. I was just angry at the monsters and rags my friends had been reduced to, Angry at all of it. The anger broke something in me and I rose into the air. The shadow flames sprung in my hands at the tears dried on my face. This was going to be how Darquesse came to be not through the death of Caelan or Skulduggery but through my choice. I would wipe every Faceless One, every single one of the face of my planet. I had nothing left to lose. My Parents and Friends, the Sanctuary and Echo Gordon were dust in the storm the Faceless Ones had brought through the gate and I was going to calm the storm. Starting with the Dark Gods in front of watching me as if unable to stop me. There would be no mercy, no compassion not any more. Nothing would stop me. Not any more. I shouted to the heavens how this planet would fall, The Irish springing to my lips.
