Devil May Cry 4 is one of the exciting Capcom video games I ever played. It really is; the sword fighting, adventure, hero rescuing damsel in distress. Anyway, as I do play that game, I found this game to be pretty familiar. Maybe it's from a series I know of, but I'm pretty sure it's from a series that I watched recently. I finally found the answer:
Bleach.
How is that? Well, let's see...
Starting with the English voices, Nero, the protagonist, is voiced by Johnny Yong Bosch, while Kyrie, the damsel in distress, is voiced by Stephanie Sheh. You know, those two have appeared in Bleach together as Ichigo and Orihime, respectively. Not only that, their characters have matching personalities. For instance, Ichigo and Nero are really show-offs, but have a heart of gold. Also, the latter's usage of Yamato, think of the former's usage of his Bankai. Now there's an interesting resemblance. Not to mention appearances; think Orihime and Kyrie. They are red-headed and serves as the love interest in those works. Anyway, Orihime wearing that Arrancar dress when she is held hostage by the Arrancars is where the idea of Kyrie wearing that white dress comes from. For her, it's gonna last until the episode of the aftermath of Aizen's defeat. There's a filler arc after that so she goes back to regular clothing. As for Kyrie, I don't know after the Order of the Sword is disbanded.
