If Leaf had known what Valentines Day was going to be like this year, she probably would have stayed inside her dorm all day.
At least those crazy first years wouldn't be able to find her there.
Leaf wasn't even kidding; when she had stepped out of her dorm on February the 14th, she was met with a huge pile of chocolates and cards, all with her name of them. (One of Leaf's doormates had complained about how unfair it was that Leaf got a ton of chocolates and she didn't get any, but Leaf would have gladly switched places with her if she could.)
All throughout the day boys of every year level approached the (at the time) third year girl, some even in their fourth and fifth years, to give her chocolates or sweet or - Arceus forbid - confess how much they loved her.
Leaf was officially creeped out.
The day seemed to drag on forever, and just when the brunette thought everything was over with, the worst possible thing happened (in her eyes, anyway).
"Yo, Green," Leaf heard a voice call out to her as she left sixth period. She turned, expecting it to be another secret admirer of hers, but was shock to see none other than Gary Oak calmly walking towards her.
"What do you want, Oak?" she questioned, glaring at the spiky-haired brunet.
He gave her a charming smile, something that caught her off guard. "Being rude to me already?" he asked. "And just when I was about to give you chocolates, too." He pulled the box of delicious sweets out of his bag to show to her, shaking the package so she could hear the rattle of the chocolate inside.
Leaf glared at him and then the box of chocolates suspiciously. "Are you kidding me? Is that like, going to explode in my face when I open it or something?"
Gary's smile grew wider as he shook his head. "No. I just wanted to give chocolates to the girl I like on Valentine's Day."
Leaf was shocked by his words on the inside (and slightly happy, as well), but kept a level expression on the outside. Shrugging, she reached out for the box and said, "Well, even if I still hate you, I can't refuse free chocola-"
Gary pulled the box out of her reach. "Psych."
Alternate name/name in the Doc Manager: Savoir Faire extra: damn it just gimme the chocolate
This is an extra from this account's main story, Savoir Faire, that didn't make it into the actual story for various reasons, nor will it ever be able to. (If you've read chapters 8 and 9 of Savoir Faire, you'll understand why that's not possible.)
Savoir Faire is a Leafgreenshipping and Contestingshipping story that includes dragons, rebellion, and lots and lots of kickass action and secrets, if you just stumbled across this and were wondering what Savoir Faire was. Check it out if you're interested. ;) (And if you're already following/reading SF, thank you so so so so so so so so...*a million "so"s later*...much! :'D )
This drabble (along with the other "Savoir Faire extras" were actually written a month or so ago when Apheleia and I (the other co-authoress of Savoir Faire, if you didn't know) were bored and were giving each other props to write these drabblets about. We just had to wait until chapter 9 of Savoir Faire was uploaded to publish them.
Thanks for reading,
