Laughter echoed through out the small Chicago apartment, as Ashlynn Black and Derek Morgan stood covered in pancake batter.
" I should have listened to your mom when she said you couldn't cook." Chuckled Ashlynn, leaning up against her fiancée, hands on her small baby bump. He smiled as bent his head to kiss her cheek.
"Let me go take a quick shower and change then I'll run down the block and get you those pancakes."
Nodding Ash started to clean the kitchen. Fifteen minutes passed before Derek walked through the kitchen to the front door, only pausing to drop a kiss on her forehead and stomach. Moments passed after Derek left before the door was thrown open and two masked figures bolted in. The first gagged Ashlynn while the second went into her bedroom, gathering two duffels full of clothes, shoes, toiletries and a handful of pictures.
Gagging Ashlynn they tossed her over their shoulders before leaving. Returning to the apartment Derek found it empty, and the locket Ash never took off broken in the doorway. Fear ran through his veins, the feelings of dread and disbelief clearly etched on his handsome features. Reaching for the closet phone, Derek dialed the local PD.
Within ten minutes two cruisers pulled up carrying four officers. The oldest officer; Officer John Tatum, started to take a report from Derek.
" My fiancée is Ashlynn Elisabeth Black. 5'7" 120lbs. Half Powhaton, half Shoshone Native American. She has for piercings; one in each earlobe, one in her right cartilage and one in her belly button. The last time I saw her was half an hour ago when I went to pick up pancakes from the Hope Diner. She was wearing jean cutoffs; a Chicago Black hawks tee shirt and pink care-bear slippers. Ashlynn is a brunette with brown eyes, then purple, blue and orange streaks in her hair. Please look for her, she's three and a half months pregnant." He rambles.
As the CSU arrives to look for evidence the officers leave, promising to find his fiancée and unborn daughter. They never did. Unable to find Ashlynn or their daughter Derek gave up after a year.
