Stay

The night was cold and dark, the moon hid behind the clouds as the trees swayed gently with the wind.
A young raven haired girl sat upon a hill , alone, contemplating her thoughts about the now complete jewel that now hung around her neck.
She knew she would have to go, that was for sure- she knew she would-,and even if the jewel allowed her to travel among both worlds, why would she stay, she had accomplished her whole purpose in this era , she was no longer of use.
Pictures of her surrogate family danced around her mind, and they froze upon the picture of her beloved hanyou.
No she couldn't stay, she couldn't , she couldn't, she couldn't ! she could not keep staying here knowing that every time he looked at her he was staring at her, she couldn't keep living as the shadow of someone else.
She felt something fall upon her palm, gently touched her face and wiped away the tears she didn't know she had been crying.
She gasped when she felt someone place a hand gently on her shoulder, turning around she saw him there sitting next to her.
She stared . And he stared at her.
She was mesmerized by his golden orbs which she were sure shone brighter than the moon- had there been any moon- she stayed in silence not really caring of the world around them. Finally after what seemed a decade she got the courage to mutter some words. "I am leaving" and with that she stood up, promptly dusting her skirt and walked away. Not turning back.
He stood ready to follow ,to stop her but instead he simply stared. What would he do or say if he stopped her?
Nonetheless he followed , and slowly quickened his pace.
She was there before the well, looking down to its dark depths.
He could smell the scent of tears , and hear how one by one as they fell upon the darkened dried well.
She turned, she saw him, and tried to memorize him completely, but then again she didn't have to, she would always remember him, forever. She turned back around preparing to jump inside the well, but just as she did two strong arms snaked around her waist, and turned her around.
"Stay" he muttered. She looked in his eyes once again mesmerized by them. "InuYasha" she whispered, new tears forming in her eyes.
"Stay" he said again. " NO, Inuyasha, I cant keep living in someone else's shadow."." Stay" he muttered again.
" No I wont , the only reason you want me here is because now that she'e gone I am the only thing to remind you of her!", with that said she turned sideways trying to free herself from his gentle and yet a little rather tight grasp. He pulled her closer to himself as she stopped her wiggling.
"No, there's only one Kagome, and I'm sorry for not realizing it before, there had always been one kagome, just one".
Kagome still wouldn't turn around to face him, but said" You're only saying that so I could stay..." She couldn't say anything more after that because he had gently grabbed her chin ,and turned her around as he placed a chaste kiss upon her small pink lips, pulling her even closer to himself.
"InuYasha" she whispered, and right then and there she would've said it, she would've said the love she has for him, a love that not even death could take away, but no, there was no need to say anything because everything was in their eyes.
"Please stay...Kagome" he whispered once more, his golden orbs staring at her chocolate ones, and then after what seemed eons to him, she smiled, grabbed his hand and together they walked back towards the village and nothing would seperate them.
