Certainty is Overrated
A/N: Hello! CCU with another one shot, this one Flones. I wrote this a while ago, but never got around to actually typing it, so I hope it's still good! It has a lot of dialogue, I realize now, but bear with me on this one, I'll try to fix that on my next story.
Anyway, enjoy! :)
'Who do you fancy?'
'What?'
Tom and Danny were sitting alone in from of the T.V. on a late Friday, and with Dougie and Harry out on Holiday, it was the two of them for the weekend.
Tom repositioned himself on the couch.
'Who do you like?' He repeated.
'Urhm… Why is that important?' Inquired Danny.
Tom shrugged.
'You know, since your broke up with your girlfriend and everything...'
'Whoa, whoa, hey,' Danny shot up, pointing at Tom, 'we were not on that subject.'
'Okay then, back to the first one.' Tom pivoted so he was fully facing Danny. 'Who. Do. You. Fancy.' Danny sighed, obviously having no choice but to answer.
'Okay, fine.' Said Danny, Tom grinning at this. 'I'll give you hints.' Tom's face fell.
'Five hints.' He added. Tom rolled his eyes, but nodded all the same.
'Okay,' said Danny enthusiastically, and started thinking. After a while, he jumped up again.
'OK!' He exclaimed. 'Here are my hints.'
'Well get on with it!'
'Alright, alright. I fancy someone with blond hair.'
'Okay.'
'Brown eyes.'
'Narrowing it down...'
'Tallish...'
'Narrowing it down...'
'Is a musician.'
'Narrowing it down.'
'We both know them.'
He looked at Danny, narrowing his eyes at the vague hint. He sighed.
'Go on...'
'Okay… How many people do you have it narrowed down to?'
'Urhm, two.'
'Okay,' Danny nodded. 'Here is the final hint.'
'Well spit it out.'
'The person I fancy… Is sitting in this room.'
Tom's eyes shot up to Danny, clouded with confusion.
'Wait… But neither of those people…' He trailed off. 'Wait a second…' Danny smirked. 'Are you saying...'
'Yeah.'
Tom fell silent, into a deep state.
'And you're sure?'
'Uh, yeah, pretty much.'
'100%?'
'Well...'
'Completely certain?'
'Well not certain anymore…' Danny faded. 'No. I don't think I am certain.' His face fell as he collapsed back into the soar, and fixed his eyes on the T.V.. But to be honest, all he was focusing on was Tom.
And Tom wasn't even acknowledging the T.V. anymore. His eyes were up and down, side to side, all over Danny. It was like he was scanning every cell of his body over and over. He was barely even blinking.
Finally, Danny turned his head to look at the brown eyes of his friend, and as soon as he made the motion, he was grabbed by a pair of lips on his. It was a kiss. Not a full blown out one, with sparks and fireworks that explode throughout the body. Not a simple peck either.. But a kiss. A real, genuine, smooth kiss, and boy did it make Danny smile.
The two pulled apart from the sweet kiss.
'Are you 100% certain, Danny.'
Danny bit down on his lip.
'No, Tom.' But Tom only smiled at this.
'Well good.
Because Certainty is Overrated.'
Finish.
Did I do well? Was this acceptable? I'm sorry it has so much dialogue, I'll try to tweak that with the next story.
Leave a review if you can? :)
