The last scene of Impact was better then any of us could have imagined. But I thought I would post this. I wrote it before the episode came out.
Kensi sits on at the bench cleaning her gun. Nate walks in.
"How is he? Is he coming back?" She asks right away.
Nate doesn't know what to say, so he just shakes his head.
"He's hurting." She says.
"I think he wishes he was hurting. At least he'd be feeling something, but he's just overwhelmed by it all. The only thing he can do is shut it all out. He's lost."
Kensi put's the gun away.
"What can I do?"
"You and Deeks have always had a…special relationship."
Kensi looks down.
"I don't know what happened between you, and I don't care. Right now it has to be about him. He needs to feel, all of it." Kensi looks back at Nate. "Make him feel again."

Deeks lies on the couch. He just stares at the ceiling. His mind is blank. Nothing. Black. An almost overwhelming abyss. In the distance he hears a knock. In some corner of his mind he registers the noise but does nothing. Moments later he hears someone wiggling the knob. Deeks snaps back into reality. The door opens and Kensi is standing looking over him.
"Up." Kensi pulls him to his feet. Deeks looks at her with a blank face. The look almost breaks her heart. She pulls him into the bathroom. He seems to register what she is doing but makes no move to stop her.
Kensi turns the shower on. She empties her pockets onto the counter. Kensi stands between Deeks and the door.
"What are you doing?" Deeks finally says.
"Waking you up."
Kensi pushes him backwards until he is under the cold water. Deeks takes in a sharp breath as the freezing water runs down his back. Kensi steps into the shower with him. Deeks tries to step out of the water but she doesn't let him. He looks up at her.
"You need to feel this. You need to feel it all." The water drips from his shaggy hair down his blank face. Nate's words ring in her ears. Make him feel again.
In one step Kensi closes the distance between them. Their faces are an inch apart as the cold water now runs down both of them. Kensi runs her hands through his hair.
"Come back to me."
She sees a flicker in his eyes. She runs her hands down his face, down his arm. More life comes back to his body. She closes the distance and kisses him. The spark instantly runs through both of them. Deeks puts his hands on her back holding her.
Kensi deepens the kiss. Deeks moves his hands up to her face. She breaks away. They both breathe hard as the water still runs around them. He leans his forehead against hers.
"Welcome back." She says.
Kensi looks into his eyes as tears start to fall. She pulls him in and holds him as the pain starts to return.
"I'm right here. I'm not going anywhere."
