Granted most kids would be thrilled for a partial day of school.
Especially on a Friday.
It was raining in early autumn.
Which wouldn't be so bad if there was something to do.
Correction: something FUN to do.
But dismal weather meant that some people sought out other distractions.
Like comfort food.
Which should be good for everybody.
But even Bob noticed something was up with his normally docile daughter.
Tina Belcher's mind was not fully into her shift.
Having had no real problems - more than usual - and was at least average in most of her classes.
And had made progress in other social areas recently...
Giving her the confidence to put herself out there.
So as Tina and her younger sister, bussed the tables at her family's restaurant - her eyes kept looking out the window.
"Staring at the rain isn't gonna make it stop -" Louise griped as she pocketed another tip.
"I tried that already."
Tina did not answer right away giving her brother Gene an opportunity to add his own retort.
"Turkey's drown from staring up at the rain," he adjusted a strap to his burger costume. "Think that's where the idea stew began...?"
"I don't care how it began -"
Louise nearly slammed the trey down in frustration.
"I just want it to STOP!"
In both the workload and the fact she had to endure his random burbling by herself.
But Tina finally suddenly snapped from her dazed, vacant expression and ran outside into the weather to meet up...
The postman.
Amongst catalogues, junk mail and even a few random coupons was what she was looking for.
A government seal so the sender didn't need to use a stamp.
