"We will now start the UN meeting! Philippines! Introduce yourself!" Germany started.

"Hello Everyone! I am Philippines! Pearl of the Orient Sea!"

Shouted a man standing 168 cm tall, black hair slightly waving on his forehead, pale auburn skin, large brown eyes, wearing a decent barong tagalog pairing his black pants and slippers.

"Ah! Japan! It's a pleasure to meet you! Your animes are awesome!" he said and took his hand for a shake.

"Ah! France! I've always dreamt to see your wonderful place!" he said.

"Ah! China! Your small town in Binondo is very lively!" He smiled at China.

"Ah! Italy! Your pasta is the best!" He smiled and Italy gave him a big hug in return for the praise.

"Ah! America! Such Liberation!" he looked at America who was eating burgers in a corner.

"Ah! Russia! How lovely the weather is right?" He stared at Russia.

"Ah! Spain! We had modified your clothing suited for our weather!" he snapped at Spain.

"Now that you've said it, you pretty much look like Spain." Germany said. "Though your complexion is a bit darker."

"Anyone would look like somebody if they had been colonized for more than three hundred years you see!" Philippines replied.

"Philippines indeed, is multi-cultural." Japan spoke.

"Wahaha! Tell us tell us about that multi-culture!" Italy added.

"Gladly!" Philippines grinned. "Our country is made up of 7,107 islands. We started in tribes, trading with the Chinese, Arabians, Indians and so much more!"

"Yep. Since money hasn't been recognized yet at that time." China inserted.

"Until then Spaniards came into one of our islands. Then, they started to colonize us!"

"W-what?! And you're still happy with that?!"

"Not that I'm so happy. But thanks to them, Philippines was recognized as a nation with a religion. We were just pagans until they came. They might be abusive at times, but not all of them were bad. They gave us education, a new culture and even a change in eating and fashion!"

"Yep. It was recorded that our ancestors also suggested a change in last names." Spain uttered.

Philippines nodded, not removing his big smile.

"Yaa~ Beats me. Philippines is such a lively country e?" France tuned in.

"Yerr shure they rr—" America gulped in. "Philippines is recorded to have the lightest and funniest mood in the whole world."

"How come?" Germany asked.

"Come on! They are the only ones who could still smile after several typhoons." America sighed.

"Aww. Stop it. Ahaha" Philippines laughed. "It's normal for us to be a destination of typhoons. We had always been falling but we always stand up. Giving up makes no sense!"

"that's why suicide is such a rare case for you." Japan muttered. "Not like in us…"

"Well, it's because of our culture. Our belief was, suicide is a great sin and it will drag you to hell. Not like in your belief Japan, so don't be so gloomy!"

"But you always had that attitude of not finishing things because of laziness." England butts in.

"Ahaha. It's all because of Spain~" Philippines hummed. "We managed to pass on Spain's common attitudes as well~"

Spain sighed.

"Waaa. Tell us more~" Italy said.

"Sure!" Philippines smiled.

Vocabulary:

Barong Tagalog is a formal shirt that is the national clothing of the Philippines for men. It is usually white with embroidery in front, made from natural items like pineapple. Baro't Saya is the counterpart that is for women.

Binondo is a town in Manila which is considered as a China town. Yep. It is the oldest Chinatown in the world, since 1594. It contains a rich Chinese culture good for food trips and so much more.

Note: I am not bumping to any religion esp. on the "suicide" part. In the Philippines, this is a big issue. Due to the customs held by their primary religion - Roman Catholic, suicide is a great sin.
