Some Things Are Better Left Unknown.

A/N: Hello all. Kel's feelings about Neal and Yuki's relationship. Warning, implied adult content.

Disclaimer. I don't own the characters, or the setting. That belongs to Tamora Pierce.

"Two of my best friends are engaged. To each other. Oh, I don't have a problem with it; they're adults and perfectly entitled to do whatever they please. I'm happy for them; they both need each other in a way. He needs someone that will make him eat his vegetables; she needs someone to make her relax here in Tortall. They're perfect for each other.

She came to Steadfast today to see us. I got to say hello to her, then Neal whisked her off with a "We shall see you tomorrow Kel." I don't even have a problem with that, I don't mind not seeing her until tomorrow. What I do mind, is hearing. And imagining. Some things are definitely better left unknown. I want to hunt down and maim the person who decided to put my rooms next to Neal's. I'm trying to write reports, while trying to ignore the noises coming through the wall. So I came up here to get some peace." Kel finished speaking, and turned to look at Dom. He grinned at her.

"You mean because you're such good friends with Neal and Yuki it's kind of like thinking about your siblings, or parents doing…"

"Shut up now Dom, before I have to harm you." Kel blanched.

Dom grinned again; sliding his arm around her waist he pulled Kel to him. "Well dear partner o' mine, how about we go make THEM uncomfortable…"

Kel smiled as she reached up and gently kissed Dom, "I think that's a very good idea."

The next morning

Neal was wondering why Kel wasn't at breakfast, it was unlike her to sleep in. Walking back into the barracks he went first to his room, looking in he noted that Yuki was still asleep. Gazing at her for a moment he decided not to wake her, she needed her rest after all her travelling.

Leaving his room, he knocked on Kel's door. She didn't answer, so he tried the handle. It opened to reveal Kel, and Dom, asleep in her bed. Neal closed the door in shock. Turning around to go back to his room, he mumbled, "My cousin, and my best friend… Oh Gods, I don't want to think about that!" Re-entering his room, he slid into bed beside Yuki. Some things were better left alone, and others needed to hopefully just be a dream.
