Opposites (title doesn't really match with the story…I know):
They were so different, Sasuke and Sakura.
She was light, and he, darkness. She was bubbly and carefree, while he was always serious and harbored anger. She was beautiful, cheerful spring, while he was lonely, cold winter.
They were complete opposites.
Then, how? How did this angel fall in love with a thing like him?
She said he might be cold, and mean, but she knew that he needed love. She knew that he needed to be cared for. She knew that inside, he was sad and broken.
All he said he cared about was revenge and power. He said that she didn't matter and she meant nothing to him. Was it true? Of course not. She was his light, his life. But he found out the hard way.
He was battling against his brother, Itachi, Sasuke winning. He used his Chidori with great speed and at full power. He delivered the blow to Itachi. He won.
However, before Itachi died, he used his last remaining chakra, and aimed it towards Sasuke, who had his back turned.
Slam
A sickening, crack sound emerged as Itachi fell to the ground and died. Sasuke, with a shocked expression on his face, quickly turned around. Sakura was on the ground, clutching her heavily wounded stomach.
She had taken the blow for him.
Sasuke kneeled down and placed her head onto his lap. With a shocked and worried expression on his face, he said:
I'm sorry
It was his very first apology. It was all he could say. He couldn't say more. His mouth wouldn't move after that.
But, all Sakura did was laugh and smile. She told him it was okay. She told him that she was happy that he wasn't hurt and she told him that she loved him. She told him that even though he didn't love her back, she was happy she could protect him.
Then she died.
Sasuke was stunned. She had loved him that much? She loved him…even though he never loved her back? Wait…did he never love her? No…he did. From the very beginning, he now realized. But, it was too late. She would never know.
She would never know how much she meant to him.
A tear slowly came down Sasuke's pale cheek as he hugged her body close to him.
He made a grave for Sakura under her favorite cherry blossom tree and buried her. Into the gravestone he carved the words:
Sakura Haruno, beloved guardian angel and light.
For that was what she was to him. She was his guardian angel and his light. Without her, he could never be happy.
Sasuke slowly walked through the forest.
He pondered on what would have happened if she knew he loved her back.
Then, he approached a high cliff.
He looked down and wondered what would happen if he lived on without her. Impossible. Without his light, he couldn't live. He knew that. He was going to see her again. And this time, he would make sure he told her how much he loved her.
Then he jumped
Gah…sorry if it was really short and bad. I rushed a lot because I didn't have much time. I'm supposed to be sleeping right now. (1:00 a.m.) heheh.
