Angel of Music
By Spectra16
A/N: I've been obsessed with the Phantom of the Opera for forever. I watched Andrew L. Webber's musical (gag), read the book, researched it, listened to different renditions of the songs, and tried to write a fan fiction. And here I am. Writing a contemporary song about the story. It's more like lyrics of a song than a poem. The beat is to the tempo and tune to the theme song, Phantom of the Opera. Yeah. It's a fast beat, kinda rap song. Like MC Lars. He raps about the Eddy A. Poe, so why not O.G.?
Disclaimer: I don't own Phantom of the Opera. This goes out to my boy Gaston!
-.-.-.-.-.-
Verse 1
Hey, O.G.!
Who the hell is he?
Playing on his organ,
Looking down at me?
Lives in the cellars
Below the Populaire.
Hangs people for fun.
He really doesn't care.
Thinks Daae is hot
But Raoul's got money
And looks
And undying love.
Can Erik stand a chance,
Against all of the above?
Verse 2
Mme. Giry's gonna kick your ass,
She knows where you live.
You can't beat the fury
Of a woman who doesn't forgive.
She brings the O.G. his footstool,
The Manager's take her for a fool.
She'll step on their faces,
And make them pay.
Steal their 20K francs,
And then we can say…
Chorus
The Phantom of the Opera is there,
Inside your mind.
What will we do?
Where will we go?
No one can escape the P.t.O.!
Verse 3
Just like in Iron Maiden,
You're the Phantom of the Opera.
You're the devil.
You're just out to scare!
What'd we ever do to you?
Sure, Carlotta sings like a toad,
But we didn't need a demonstration.
They say you're a genius,
An artist, a specter.
But you dropped a chandelier
On some guy named Hector.
You're a little obsessive
About your girlfriend, Daae.
She's a dirty tramp.
You didn't need her anyway.
(Verse 2 1x)
(Chorus 1x)
Verse 4
You have one companion,
His name is 'the Persian'.
Dines with wine with you,
Shows up on stage with the cue.
Kay says his name is Nadir,
And he's your best friend.
But he said he'd come and get you if you killed another man.
Chorus 2
You're the Phantom of the Opera,
And you're always there.
You think pun jabbing is fair.
And that's all fine and great,
But I think your efforts are a little late.
Verse 5
You're the Angel of Music,
You don't have to remind us.
And when Christine runs away,
You always make a fuss.
Just work on Don Juan,
The music of sadness and grace.
Let's take off your mask,
And laugh at your face.
Red Death upon us.
Creeping down the stairs.
Insulting the patrons,
Chasing Christine through your lair.
She loves Raoul,
But don't get in a bind.
Lucky for you,
True love is blind.
