"Baka!" I screamed before running off into the darkness. I heard the patter of footsteps as he ran to catch up.
"Hikari! Wait!"
Wait? How could I wait? He didn't wait for me. He never did. He grabbed my arm and pulled me down.
"What the heck is wrong with you?"
I struggled. "I thought you loved me! And then you proposed to her." I said the words with such force, he let go.
I got up and ran again. Of course, I tripped and fell.
He was at my side immediately. "You okay? This isn't like you Hikari." Those eyes. Those warm brown eyes. I shook myself and glared at him.
"You baka! You still don't understand? I really loved you, with all my heart, and you just dumped me for some other girl!"
I slapped him. He flinched, but didn't move away. I hated, but liked that about him. He was so persistent. You just can't make him go away.
"Hikari" he said. He said that too, when I first met him. He said that many times, but none had the warmth that did now.
"I was a coward." He went on. "I proposed to Misty because I was a coward. I thought you would reject me, or hate me forever.
"Problem solved. I already hate you." I growled.
He ignored me. "I wanted to be with you, but I was afraid that I wouldn't be enough for you. I didn't know… That you really loved me."
"Baka." I said again, but now tears were streaming down my face. "Of course I love you. Did you think I was joking? When I said that to you down by the river?"
He stared down at the hard, bare ground.
"Are you going to cancel the marriage?"
Then, without warning, he pulled me close and kissed me. That baka. That idiot Satoshi.
A/N This is my first story, so I'm really sorry if it was really bad. I'm also sorry for any grammar mistakes because I'm editing this by hand (or keyboard). I hope you enjoyed it! Please review! And in case anyone didn't know, baka means idiot in Japanese. Please correct me if I'm wrong!
