Summary: *SET AFTER SERIES 2 FINALE* Tom's found Lexi...but only in his mind. Tom/Lexi ONESHOT
A.N: Just some Tom and Lexi depressing stuff to see me through the rest of my exams. Because, hey, I'm screwed up right now. DISCLAIMER, of course, I own nothing.
Tom has no idea where this place is, but it sure is bright. A thick canopy of trees shade him from the sun, and white flower petals cover everything in sight. It reminds him of the time he went to his cousin's wedding. He briefly wonders if this is where he is, but quickly dismisses the idea. If this was his cousin's wedding, there'd be more than a few trees around the place.
There's a soft padding of footsteps behind him; he turns, and a smile breaks out on his face. Her blonde hair is curly round her shoulders, and her blue eyes sparkle as brightly as the grin on her face.
"Hey." Is all she says when she reaches him.
"Hey, you." He wraps an arm around her waist, a hand cupping her face, wiping the way of beads of moisture that have started to tumble from her face. "Hey, hey, what's with all the tears?"
"They're happy tears," she sniffles.
Tom laughs, the sound carefree. "Idiot,"he says fondly. Lexi's hand grip his shirt, and drag him closer to her, until they are sandwiched together.
"You're the idiot...My Tom..." she says softly, resting her forehead against his, leaning in closer –
Tom wakes suddenly, disorientated by the dark room. For a few seconds, he can't remember exactly where he is, but it soon becomes clear. It's just him, alone in his room. Lexi isn't there, she was never there, and, judging by the way his searching has come to nothing, it doesn't seem like she'll ever be there.
And, upon this realisation, Tom, the Wizard who saw off the Nekross, survived almost impossible things, and fought aliens before he took his exams, finally lets himself cry.
