Hey. Well this is my first attempt at writing a fanfiction that's longer than two chapters. Part of my reasoning for writing this is that there are a lot of songs that I want to incorporate into stories and also my great aunt died of cancer a few months ago and I wanted to write a story highlighting what an awful illness it is. Please read and review! This first chapter is sort of an overview. So again read and review!

I'll sing it one last time for you

Then we really have to go

You've been the only thing that's right

In all I've done

And I can barely look at you

But every single time I do

I know we'll make it anywhere

Away from here

Light up, light up

As if you have a choice

Even if you cannot hear my voice

I'll be right beside you dear

Louder louder

And we'll run for our lives

I can hardly speak I understand

Why you can't raise your voice to say

To think I might not see those eyes

Makes it so hard not to cry

And as we say our long goodbye

I nearly do

The BBC announcer spoke with a poise that took years to accomplish. She looked into the teleprompter and spoke of her colleague, Jenny Hyde who was running in London's annual Breast Cancer UK run..

''She runs in memory of her mother, Jackie Hyde , Good Morning America anchorwoman for two years. America's darling she died in 1988 after a three year fight, in the arms of her husband. Today we support Jenny as she runs in memory of her mother and we remember a remarkable woman."

At this they zoomed in on a beautiful girl with raven curls and mis-matched eyes. She stood in the crowds, preparing herself for the task ahead, unshed tears dancing in her eyes. She had a grace about her that made her stand out. Halfway across the world in a basement surrounded by his close friends, her father watched the television. Behind his signature sunglasses he watched his baby with tears in his eyes. She reminded him so much of Jackie. He didn't know why he agreed to come down here. It had been 18 years since the day Jackie took her last breath and for 18 years he hadn't set foot in that basement. It hurt too much. Hurt so much. It hurt him that he would never hold her, kiss her, hear her again. He can still smell her. As he sat there and watched his baby start to run he shut his eyes and saw her beautiful face. He sat there and it broke his heart because he knew that he would love Jackie Burkhart forever and for always. He shut his eyes and he remembered. .

Next chapter ' It started with a kiss'
