Hi guys! This is my fourth story so far. This one is different because this time I'm doing it about May+Drew instead of my favourite couple, Dawn+Paul! This is my second high school fanfic! Enjoy guys!
Disclaimer: I don't own Pokemon (which sucks).
Chapter 1: First Day is Finally Here!
May's POV
(PROLOGUE)
I still can't believe it. I'm finally going into tenth grade. Everybody I know (who's older than me) always says that 10th grade is the best! They rattle on about how much freedom you get, that most people fall in love there. I know quite a few people who ended up marrying the person they hooked up with in tenth grade.
I attend Castelia High. That's right. I'm from the Hoenn region but I live in Unova region, quite far from my hometown. My name is May Haruka Maple, and I'm fifteen years old. I will be turning sixteen soon, and I hate to admit, but I still act like a five year old kid. I have a mild addiction to ramen noodles, and I LOVE food. Food defines me with a passion.
I lived with my parents, Caroline and Norman Maple, and my younger brother, Max Maple, in Petalburg City until I was fourteen. I then moved to Unova, and I've been there ever since. My dad is very overprotective of me, and insists on keeping me safe, calling me everyday for check-ups. He's also a tad embarrassing, especially when he asks me about 'becoming a woman', 'boys' and the worst of all: 'bras'. He's a bit too inappropriate.
My mom is very laid back, and does such things as the house work. She's an incredible cook (she somehow managed how much I ate just fine), and a very considerate mother. She does get a bit worried sometimes, but that's only because most mothers do. They'd be really weird, otherwise. I miss her a lot, now I'm in a boarding school, a long way away from her.
Max is my younger brother. He's insanely smart, and declared that he's going to be a Pokemon breeder, who knows many things about Pokemon. He actually studies for fun, so I think he's going to achieve that goal with flying colors. Unfortunately, due to my brother's intelligence, he always finds a way to frustrate me. Every time something good happens to me, he sarcastically comments on how it's not that big of an achievement. Since he pretty much knows everything, he always argues back, and has a lot to say. He's an annoying brother, and I'm glad I don't have to fight with him everyday.
The reason I'm in Unova is because my mom and dad believe that I need a good 'education'. That meant I got shipped off to a boarding school, away from my hometown.
My dad always says that I'm a bright girl, I just need to apply myself. He says that I daydream to much, and that I'm somewhat of an airhead. I am very clumsy, and tend to get offended really easily. He thought that Castelia High would be good for me, since the teachers are famous, and very good. I had to apply by taking a test. I was accepted, but only by the skin of my teeth. It also helped that Dad is the Gym leader of Petalburg City.
That ALSO meant I could only see my family for the summer vacations. That sucked. I had to sit at school in winter break, or spring break, because my parents couldn't afford to send me back home for only a week and a half. I missed them, and they missed me. Sometimes, video calling, or speaking on the phone, isn't enough. Whenever I used to tell them that, they'd change the subject, or buy me a present as a guilt-time-consumer.
Fortunately, I made five friends. Dawn Hikari Berlitz, Misty Kasumi Waterflower, Leaf Green, Zoey Nozomi and Lyra Kotone, who all helped me through my time of need. Which isn't that bad, now I have them.
They're more than I could ever ask for. Dawn: The girly girl. Misty: The tomboy. Leaf: The smart one. Lyra: The peacemaker. Zoey: The voice of reason.
We're all a bunch of weirdo's but we don't care (A/N That's my friends and I! XD)!
This year is going to be interesting for sure…
(CHAPTER 1)
"BRING!"
I sit up on my bed and wonder what the hell that sound was. My senses are muffled and I throw the covers off in a hurry. What noise would wake my from a perfectly good dream? I was dreaming about me having a life supply of ramen noodles, spaghetti, and dumplings. That's the kind of dream you only get once in a lifetime! What would ruin me that please?
Oh, right. My new alarm clock. I slap the top of my red Mickey Mouse alarm clock (another new guilt-time-consumer present from my parents) and sigh loudly. I then give a big yawn, scratching my head.
"Dawn?" I call out to the next bed. My roommate, Dawn Hikari Berlitz rooms with me in our little dorm. We've had many memories here. I grumble slightly. "Dawn?" She still isn't answering me.
I peer over to my roommate's bed. The pink covers are over her head, but I see her dark midnight blue hair spill from the sides. Her foot is lying limply in the open. I consider tickling it, but the last time I did that,I got a bucket of water thrown on me at a water fight Misty had arranged. I decided to check on her.
She's still sound asleep. I can hear hr slight snoring. I don't snore, but I have had experience. Max used to snore like crazy, until I used to hit him with my pillow to get him to shut up.
I stand up and walk over to her, avoiding a bra that I left on the floor. I peer over the bed, and rip of the covers off. Dawn's delicate hand is gracefully lying on her face. I take it and put it to the side.
"Dawn. Dawn. Wakey, wakey time for cakie," I whisper while frantically shaking her shoulder. I remember when I made that up. I was only three, and my friend Destiny was having a sleepover party. In the morning, I had woke her up chanting that, because I was anxious to eat the cake she would share with me.
Dawn just swatted an imaginary fly away. She mumbled something, and went back to sleep.
She's still asleep! Darn her. I get an idea.
"Dawn, Conway is in our room." I whisper louder.
Dawn's head immediately shoots up and suddenly get a baseball bat out of nowhere. She then starts manically swinging it, dry heaving. Her eyes are wide, like I just told her that there was a serial killer in our room.
Conway isn't a serial killer, but Dawn acts like he is. He's actually just a generally creepy teenage boy, with low self esteem and issues. He could be classified as a stalker in the making. He has dark green hair that covers his eyes, and all you can see is the glint of his glasses. He started to have an obsession with Dawn when she was nice to him... He was getting picked around, and Dawn told the bullies to stop, or she'd make them unpopular (she has the power to do that). Conway then started a...unhealthy obsession with her. He followed her around everywhere, tried to kiss her, and kept getting samples of her hair.
"CONWAY! GET OUT OF OUR ROOM!" Dawn screeches, panting.
There's a shuffling behind the curtains and Conway comes out, fully dressed (thank goodness)! WTF? HE'S ACTUALLY HERE? HOW LONG HAS HE BEEN THERE? I almost started shivering.
Dawn and I covered ourselves. We only had short flannel shorts, and tank tops on. That perverted creep could blackmail us, or even worse... Look at us unhealthily.
He then runs to our door and opens it.
"How'd you know I was there?" he asks then walks out, not looking back.
I had my mouth open the whole time! I didn't really know he was there! I only said that to wake Dawn up. What a creep…
I turn to Dawn who has a victorious face on. She must be happy, thinking she got rid of him. Oh boy, how wrong is she? He seriously needs to go to a doctor, or a therapist.
"Anyway, let's get dressed! Tenth grade starts today!" I shout, totally forgetting the thoughts I was having before. I guess I'm like that. I try to change subjects when things get tough.
"Aw hell yeah!" Dawn exclaims, jumping over her bed gracefully.
Did you like the first chapter? I'm still not very good with first chapters. In fact, I suck. Oh well.
Conway is the creepiest guy in the Pokemon anime I know! Especially how his glasses shine when he adjusts them. Please review and I'll be happy. Or at least I'll be able to stop thinking about Conway…
Oh, and I'm in the middle of re-writing this, so please, bear with me, when some chapters are pretty good, and others have spelling and grammatical mistakes in them. :D
