I watched this AMV of Prussia and Germany with the song Leave Out All the Rest by Linkin Park, and then I saw this picture (the cover one) and I just got this idea. I hope you like it!~
Ludwig Beillshmidt, AKA Germany, stood alone in front of the black cross that stood proudly surrounded by a gleaming world of white. Had it really been that long? He hadn't even noticed the days pass by. Heck, he hadn't noticed much of anything. Ever since his brother's death, he hadn't noticed much of anything. He was just numb.
He could still remember the day well. France, in tears, trying to console a weeping Spain as Romano cried by his side and Italy clung tightly to the German as he stood, frozen. His brother. His strong, incredible brother, was gone. He was unable to move as the hot, liquid mercury slipped down his cheeks. It wasn't fair…
And now he stood, staring down at the grave of Gilbert Biellshmidt, the Kingdom of Prussia. He could still remember the day he woke up, his mind as empty as a newborn's, and looking up into the kind red eyes of his elder. Why….Why did he have to go? It was Germany's fault that the second World War occurred, he should have been the one to dissolve!
As the air grew colder, he stood, remembering all the wonderful times he'd spent with his brother. Yes, he might've been obnoxious and egotistical, but he was also kind and loving. He'd do anything just for the sake of those he loved…
Once it'd become too cold to bear, Germany turned away to leave the heart-breaking scene, when a strange chirping filled his ears. Looking up, he saw a small, yellow bird flying around his head. 'That's strange…' he thought. 'It looks kind of like Gilbird…' But, that was impossible, right? Gilbird had disappeared along with his master that day. The bird then stopped its circling to hover in front of Luwig's face. There was no doubt about it, that was definitely Gilbird. But, what did it mean?
The bird chirped happily and flew around Ludwig, back in the direction of the cross. Ludwig stood silently, before sighing and deciding it had been his imagination, when a voice filled his ears: "Hallo, West."
He spun around and froze at what he saw. There he was…The man from his memories. The silvery-white, unkempt hair, the unusually pale skin, and those bright red eyes. It couldn't have been…"B-Bruder?"
"Ja, it's me. I've missed you a lot, Luddy."
Ludwig couldn't help it. He ran at the smaller man, engulfing him in a tight hug as he broke down into sobs. "East…"
"There, there. It's alright. I'm here, mein kleiner bruder…"
And he was right. Everything was alright, because his wonderful brother was back, and Germany would never let him go again…
