Josh's Definition Of Perfect

Disclaimer: I don't own D/J. I don't even own the dictionary I got the definition from… I just looked online, lol.

Rated T

Summary: Josh has an assignment on the definition of perfect. Be warned, mild slashy feelings on Josh's part. 364 word little ficlet.

A/N: I know I haven't written in awhile (sorry). This popped in my head so I thought I would share. I hope someone enjoys it.

Josh had an assignment and really it wasn't difficult, or at least it shouldn't have been. It was really rather simple. Write the definition of perfect, then write your own definition of the word and give an example of something perfect in your eyes. Right, simple enough if your definition wasn't what his personal definition was.

He thought of the real definition of the word. Being entirely without fault or defect; Flawless. His mind then wandered to his personal definition of perfect and how it completely contradicted the one in the dictionary.

His definition of perfect was being late and making him late. His definition was screwing up and making him so mad sometimes he occasionally saw very terrifying shades of red and black as he thought he might be passing out. His definition was getting hurt over and over and then feeling elated when the hurt feelings were forgotten by the actions making up for whatever reason caused them this time.

Josh's definition of perfect was jeans so tight they should be illegal. His definition was hair so amazing and the scent even more so to the point that he was so addicted he knew no twelve step program could even touch it, and he really didn't care to even test out the theory because he loved it too much. His definition was a musical talent that nobody could compete with. His definition of perfect could all be summed up in one word. His definition of perfect was one word, Drake.

"What?" Drake asked looking at Josh from his bed holding his guitar.

"What?" Josh asked confused.

"You said my name. I just wondered what you wanted" Drake told him.

"Oh, sorry. I… Nothing, never mind" Josh told him hiding his embarrassment.

"Okay" Drake said with a smile.

Josh smiled back and then thought the smile he just saw needed to be added to the definition as well because it was perfect, just as the boy it belonged to was. Drake's focus shifted back to his guitar and Josh turned back to concentrate on the assignment; this time to the one he was actually turning in, not the one in his head.
