"Al.." A small, soft voice whimpered in the darkness, a nudge soon following. "Al.." There it was again, but he wanted sleep.. Sighing softly, he slowly turned, staring up at the other in the darkness, only able to see the faint outline of the others face. He gave a small smile as he rubbed his eyes, looking outside.
"What time is it Mattie?" He asked softly, seeing the other turn to look, then shrug before he raised a small hand. "Maybe.. one?" He said, then shook his head a little. "Y-you took all the blankets again." He whispered, pointing down.
Alfred looked down, frowning a little and stood up on the bed, wobbling a little. "I'm sorry." He said with a warm smile, holding the large blanket up over his head and let out a loud rawr! "I'm the blanket monster! RAWR!" He let out suddenly, tackling the other with a fit of giggles and started to tickle him. "RAWR! Eatin' you up!" He laughed, hearing Mattie scream and laugh under the blanket, kicking his feet to try and get away.
"NOOOO!" He let out with a loud giggle, squirming, though Alfred smiled. "You said you wanted the blanket!" He said. "Now it's eatin' you rawr!" He laughed, tickling the other some more, though suddenly the door opened and the orange light of a candle entered the room.
"Boys…" Arthur spoke softly, sighing as he stepped in. "I know you two want to play with eachother but wait until morning, you need your rest." He sighed, setting the candle down on the nightstand and took the blanket, holding it up. "Lay down you two and I'll tell you a story." He said, watching as Matthew and Alfred quickly got situated. He smiled, carefully put the blanket over the two small children, kissing each on the forehead.
Matthew curled up into Alfred, hugging onto him under the sheets and closed his eyes with a happy smile on his face, feeling his brother hug back onto him. "Tell us a story about blanket monsters!" Alfred piped up, his voice getting suddenly a little sleepier. "And.. " He yawned. "Make it happy, I don't want Mattie having a nightmare." He whispered, looking up at Arthur with a warm smile.
"Sure sure… Once upon a time.."
