You May Not Like What You Find
"You may not like what you find."
Wo Fat's ominous words rang in Steve's ears. What had the hell had he meant?
Special Agent Jenna Kaye was silent too. Her face was exactly like his: pondering over Wo Fat's words.
At last Agent Kaye spoke. "What did Wo Fat mean by he said to you?"
Steve sighed. "I have no idea." he whispered. "My parents…" He paused. "My parents didn't use anything!"
"My fiancé didn't do anything either," Agent Kaye whispered, trying to calm the upset ex-SEAL. "And yet that bastard killed him."
"I spent all my life hating my father." Steve confessed. "After he sent my sister and I away to the mainland. I hated him because he sent us away when we needed him most. When he was murdered…" Steve shook his head. "Or rather, when he was executed, I found myself regretting my hatred. I didn't know where to put it then."
"He didn't do anything, Steve." Agent Kaye reassured. "Or your mother."
"How do you know?" Steve exploded. "You didn't even know her!"
Silence passed.
"I'm sorry." Steve apologized.
"It's all right." Kaye said. "What was her name?"
Steve was silent.
"I'm sorry." Now Kaye apologized.
"What are we going to do?" Steve asked Kaye.
"What would you do?"
"I would kill the bastard."
So would I." Kaye said.
"Thank you, Agent Kaye." Steve thanked the woman who he had met early that day. "For everything."
"Thank you for dinner, Commander." Agent Kaye said.
Steve smiled. "Call me Steve."
"Understood. Then you should call me Jenna." Agent Kaye smiled too.
"Thank you, Jenna. For everything."
"You're welcome, Steve. Thank you for dinner."
"Did you see them?" The voice in the earphone was quiet, careful not to alert the man who he was stalking.
"Yes."
"Then you know what we do. We wait."
"Yes, Wo Fat."
