Football Widows

First of all, congratulations to the New York Giants on their Super Bowl win. Second, last Sunday while on a visit to Peoria, Arizona for the Super Bowl Chuck Whittaker and Mark Cuington of the Dallas Fire Department were victims of a drive-by shooting. This morning, Chuck Whittaker died of his injuries. Mark Cuington is expected to make a full recovery and is on his way home. My thoughts and prayers go out to the Cuington family at this time. No, still don't own them.
Cheers sounded from the rec room. Kitty shook her head as Emma glared in the general direction of that room. Scott, Hank, Peter, several students, Kurt, and neighbors were crowded into the rec room to watch the New York Giants play the New England Patriots in the Super Bowl.
"You know, this would've been a lot easier if you hadn't purchased that plasma screen television for the rec room," Kitty commented to Emma as Lockheed and Prissy bounded into the kitchen.
"What?!" Emma reacted in mock horror. "And have them go elsewhere for this? What is Peter doing in there. He doesn't like football."
"Well, he's sketching. He likes the interaction of people during a football game." They all winced as boos sounded from the other room. She poured popcorn and chips into bowls as Lisa poured chili con queso into another bowl. "Are you sure that's not too hot?" Emma asked.
Lisa shrugged, "I think it depends on your definition of hot. This is considered mild in Dallas."
The women enjoyed watching Scott and the others turn several shades of red as he bit into the cheese dip. He reached for the beer to dowse the fire. Lisa laughed, "Newbie. Hey Scott, milk does better for that." His answer was to waggle his finger at her as he kept his attention on the screen. Suddenly, the channel changed as Prissy chose that moment to run over the remote causing all the women and Peter to erupt in laughter. It also caused every other man in the room to start using a few choice words.
The ladies left and spent the next few hours gossiping and checking up on the rest of the school before they heard loud cheering from the rec room. As they walked in the discovered that the Giants had pulled the upset of the season in beating the undefeated New England Patriots. Peter shook his head, "I would never have believed that someone could catch a football with his helmet."
The celebration lasted long into the night.
