This kid...

He's not ordinary.

"And how do you plan to stop me?" I asked, grinning.

"I'm not." He responded. "I'm going to stop the supply of tak."

He's scared, for certain... But he just...tries not to show it. He forces himself through quite the terrifying situation. How? He's only fourteen years old!

He reached into his pocket. I stared at him expectantly, waiting for him to show me what it was. He did, all right.

It was a tiny ball of tak.

I blinked my eyes in disbelief. How? The smirk fell off of my face. Bobby saw it, too. He may not have known he had just won the battle for Denduron... but he knew he'd just scared me. And that was all he needed. He glanced to his friend, Loor, the new Traveler from Zadaa. The tall girl nodded. I knew what was coming.

"No!" I called, reaching out to grab his hand before he threw it. But it was too late. He threw down the tiny pellet of tak, and I watched as it made a small explosion. The blast couldn't hurt any of us, but that didn't matter, because... It ignited the floor.

All around us, the tak powder on the floor began to ignite. It spread, and spread, making miniature explosions everywhere.

How did he do it? Why did he have it? I shouldn't have let him see my fear. I should have intimidated him, asking him to ignite the tak! But no... Right then, I created a flaw in my plans to rule Halla. I shouldn't have been so stupid!

This kid is something extraordinary. I meant it when I said I wanted him to join me; One less traveler, and, I'll admit it: One hell of an ally. But obviously, he was scared of me. That was easy to see... But instead of the easy way out, he fights me, tooth and nail.

"No! No!" I shouted, stomping on the flames. It was a pathetic thing to do, but it was the onlything I could try. What pissed me off was that the children smiled at me. They knew they'd won, and they were grinning! "This isn't the end, Pendragon," I glared at him. I didn't care if he saw weakness in me. Hell, it may have been for the best that he did; He'd get all cocky.

"Don't be sad, Saint Dane," He said, still grinning, "This is the way it was meant to be."

I wanted to shoot him. I wanted to pull out a gun, and shoot him. He just kept smiling; I needed to stop showing that he could get to me. Loor took a step towards me, thinking I was going to attack. But I didn't; As much as I hated it, it was time for my getaway. The fire and explosions were growing.

He's incredible. He beat me, all on his own. A child beat me, all on his own! It was enraging, and humiliating.

I made into the flume, the children following me. They'd be in for a shock. "Cloral!" I shouted into the tunnel. Moments later, the light of the flume enveloped me, and pulled me to an underwater territory. Oh, they'd have some fun, all right.

When I arrived at Cloral, I dived into the water. I willed a quig to approach, and so it did; A giant shark with glowing yellow eyes swam up to me, ready to serve. How I loved these guys... Sadly, I had to kill this one.

"Denduron!"

I pushed the shark through the flume, and watched as it and a substantial amount of water went to greet Bobby and Loor.

He'll be the lead Traveler, so maybe I should have expected this... But I didn't. I underestimated him. And because of that, I lost.

One thing is for sure, though.

This kid is just like Press.
