Sitting on a Rock
Sitting on a Rock
by Gethsemane

Disclaimer: I don't own Pokemon, but I do own myself and my husband.

The other day I was sitting on a rock trying to think up something to write. I really needed to finish my Changes arc, but I was having a difficult time with it. I really hate writers block. Anyway, through the magic of imagination, spiced by years of gaming, I found myself in Kanto. As I've said, I was sitting on a rock. I was watching various pokemon pass by, waiting for the Muse to strike.

"Yawn..." Huh? Who was that. I looked behind me to find a vaguely familiar guy with a headband.

"Um, can I help you?" I asked.

"Oh, I'm just sitting here watching the pokemon." he said.

"Yeah, me too. And you are?"

"Me? I'm Tracey. I sketch pokemon. I'm waiting for an interesting one to come by so I can sketch it..."

"Oh, okay." I turned around and began to watch the pokemon again. Oooh! There's a diglett! I love digletts. Maybe I'll write a diglett poem....Diglett, diglett, small and brown/ You look like a turd sticking out of the ground. Yuk! Where did that come from?! Oh, yeah, my husband's comments on my favorite pokemon. I can't write that! I like digletts. Diglett dig. Diglett dig. Something is jabbing me in the hip. It's Tracey's elbow.

"Excuse me!" I growl.

"Sorry." He says, "So what are you doing?"

"I'm trying to get some inspiration?"

"Oh, do you draw too?"

"No, well, yeah, but I want to write write now."

"What do you draw?"

"Cartoons, mostly. I have some stuff on my site and I have a rather sexy picture of Jessie and James over on Cori Falls' site."

"Sexy? Really?" Tracey said, scooting a little closer. Sheesh!

"My husband draws, too." He moved back to his place.

"Really?"

"Yeah. He's better than I am. He's drawn comics and he drew an alien that got put on a t-shirt."

"Does he draw pokemon?"

"I think he drew a squirtle once."

"Oh." Tracey said and went back to watching the wild pokemon.

I see a little girl walk by with a charazard following. Hmmmm. That reminds me of something. I begin to scribble.
Hi! My name is Kimi Kosibuto and this is , Lizard my big red Charazard.
"Lizard's so much fun, he's a friend to us all, I love Lizard the big red Charazard!"
Nah! I wad the paper up and stick it in my pocket.

"So, do you know Jessie and James?" Tracet asked.

"I keep track of them. Why?"

"Oh, they bother the people I used to travel with."

"Really?"

"Yeah, Ash and Misty."

"Oh, those people that hang around Brock?" Tracey bristles at that.

"What?"

"Rrrr, people always remember Brock and they are so happy he's back. What about me?!"

"I'm sorry. I missed the whole Orange League thing, but you were okay during that Lugia thing."

"Thanks," he grumbled, looking more peterbed.

"I never paid much attention to that Ash kid anyway though. don't be too upset. I just watch for Team Rocket..."

"Are you some kinda weirdo?"

"I guess." Tracey moved further to the other side of the rock and I went back to writing...or trying to.

"Hey, get up!" I start to hear the History Channel in the background.

"Huh."

"C'mon, it's time for bed." I wake up on the loveseat as my husband turns off the TV.

"Dang it!" I gripe. " I still don't have anything to write...maybe tomorrow."
