Something Frodo might say to Sam. The shortened version of something I wrote a while back, which I have now put up as Chapter 2 thanks to some great reviews.

The Darkness

Disclaimer:  I own nothing from Lord Of The Rings.  I wish I did, especially Legolas (sigh), but I don't.  No money, please no sue!

I have seen the darkness,

I know what lives within,

The fantasies the nightmares,

Of the imagined sin.

Yet out of the blackness,

Something good may grow,

Something strong made stronger,

By terror no-one should know.

And that strength was you,

My one piece of comfort

That saw me through.

I was alone, frightened and small,

You gave me encouragement,

Made me feel tall.

You were my clean air,

When there was none,

You gave me back my life, my fun.

When I was blinded,

You could see,

When I could not walk,

You carried me.

I have seen the darkness,

You got me out somehow,

Thank you for your love,

I see the daylight now.
