A poem I originally wrote on CoE... tell me what you think!
"Ada?" I asked, puzzled looks on my face,
"Why has Varda put that gem out in space?
Surely it would be nicer with people down here,
Where we could all help to keep it safe and near?"
"Surely our Varda must have been mad!
Does she not realise that it must feel sad?
When it is so distant, does it not feel alone?
Up there in space, far away on its own?"
My Ada laughed, and stroked my long hair,
And gazed up at the sparkling star way up there.
"My dear," he told me, "There are plans of Varda,
That 'gem' as you call it is really a star!"
"A star belongs free, high up in the sky,
Out of reach from you, out of reach from I.
The Moon is its guardian, velvet night its home,
And with so many more stars, it won't be alone."
And when I looked round and gazed higher and higher,
I realised the star was part of a great choir!
I thought, as I heard the star sing in the throng,
It's best to stay where it is you belong.
