Thanks to everyone who read and/or replied to Anne and Diana. I was really pleasantly surprised at the response.

"So," said Anne, "would you like to settle the names?"

"That's alright," Gilbert said. "I like all the names you have chosen so far. As long as the names aren't Roy and St. Claire, I think I will be content."

"Gilbert," said Anne, "you are aware that the twins are girls?"

"Of course I am Anne-girl," said Gilbert. "But who knows? You might perhaps regret the opportunity to have named one of the boys Roy so much that you would give the name to a girl."

Anne laughed. "Gilbert, for goodness' sake. In all honestly, this is a bit of seriousness to this matter."

"Which is why I leave it to you Anne."

Anne frowned. "You don't care."

"Anne, of course I do. Now you are simply trying to make me feel guilty," said Gilbert.

"I suppose after several children men just don't care anymore," continued Anne mercilessly. "Not for the names of children nor for the requests of their wives."

"Well . . . " said Gilbert. "There are two names I have been thinking are nicely suited."

Anne waited with a curious look.

"Josie and Gertie. Good, sturdy names, you'll agree."

"Indeed, but not for my girls," said Anne, shaking her head.

"One would think you were holding schoolgirl grudges still!" said Gilbert. "Haven't you said it is the person that makes the name beautiful and not the other way around, regardless of Shakespeare?"

"With some words." Anne smiled slyly. "Like the word Gilbert, for example." Gilbert put a hand to his heart. "However, there is nothing to be done with Josie or Gertie." Anne pushed at him with foot. "Off with you husband, and don't come back until you have been thinking about this for at least day."

"We shall see what I come up with," Gilbert said. He smiled mischievously and left the room, but Anne was not worried.
