This one is (exhales) not about Spitfire, it's about Kaldur/Kaldur'ahm/Aqualad. (potato, potato) He lost two girls right? Tula/Aquagirl and Raquel/Roquette? This is him reflecting on that stuff.

Kaldur'ahm was stupid. Very, very unintelligent. He had let two girls he loved just slip right through his palms. First Tula, now Raquel.

It never really struck him at first, that Raquel loved him. That he was Raquel's first love. He was blind, along with being stupid. He was blind because of Tula.

Raquel flirting with him, his mind on Tula.

Raquel fighting side by side with him, his mind on Tula.

Raquel hinting again and again that she wanted to be more than teammates with him, his mind on Tula.

Raquel kissing him on New Years Day, him kissing back, but his mind on Tula.

Tula, a girl that never loved him. A girl who picked his best friend over himself. A girl who died because he was too slow.

That was one girl. He had let Tula's life go through his fingers.

Now Raquel as well?

Kaldur'ahm swam. Swimming was one of the only times he felt truly at peace. But at this moment, he wanted to be on the surface, not in the wretched liquid.

Yesterday, he had found out from Nightwing that Raquel was getting married, and that she had thrown a bridal shower.

Kaldur'ahm punched a nearby rock. His knuckles only shocked, the black armor keeping them safeguarded.

Raquel was getting married. But not to him.

He never wondered what might've happened if he had not become Aqualad, but he had wondered one thing:

What would have happened if he had loved Raquel back as soon as she had started loving him?

Would he be the one Raquel was marrying? The one Raquel loved for eternity?

It was no good to wonder, for the opportunity was lost.

Lost like Tula.

Lost like Raquel.

Lost like himself.

Short and sweet, that is me! Keep fangurling and pwetty pwease review?
