Okay, people be nice and don't bite! This is my first Marauders fic, and my first HP one-shot, too! R+R, pwease?

"So, Evans, remind me why we're doing this again. " said Sirius Black for at least the tenth time.

"Because, Black, it's a great muggle tradition," Lily Evans explained to Sirius for at least the tenth time, also. "And since you're currently failing Muggle Studies, I figured you could use the extra-credit."

Sirius' jaw dropped. "How'd you know I was failing Muggle Studies?" he demanded.

Lily smiled. "Being smart and favored by the teachers has some advantages, Black. You'd know that if you're head wasn't always in the broom cupboard."

James Potter wolf-whistled, and Remus Lupin gave Lily a standing ovation.

"Well done, Lily!" James commented.

"Can it, Potter." Lily snapped.

"Don't be mean, Lily, you know deep down you love me." James laughed. Lily flipped James off. Peter Petigrew clapped James on the back.

"You push too hard, mate." Peter commented.

James shrugged. "Whatever. So, Lily, how do we do this thing again?"

Lily rolled her eyes. "Everyone puts their presents In the middle of the table and we attach string to them. Then we put the string in random places. When your name is called you pull a string and whatever gift you get, you're stuck with. Okay?"

"Yeah." came all the Marauders' replies.

"Good. Let's set up, then."

After about fifteen minutes all the gifts were on a table and strings were attached to all of them. "Okay, Black, you first." said Lily with her arms crossed in front of her chest.

Sirius tugged on a string and eventually a box followed it's way to him. Sirius tore open the wrapping paper. He opened the box expectantly, but then his face fell.

"Seriously, Evans, a BOOK?" He held up a copy of 50 Different Charms and Their Uses.

Lily stuck her nose up in the air. "Who knows, you might actually like the book. And with any luck, you might actually grow a small part of your brain!"

"Oh har-har." Sirius rolled his eyes while the other Marauders were in fits of laughter.

"She's burned you twice in the past hour, Padfoot!" laughed Peter.

"Shut up, Wormtail." muttered Sirius.

"My turn!" yelled James and he dove in. He eventually fished up a box that contained several different chocolates. "Gee, Moony, I wonder who THIS a is from?" asked James sarcasticly.

Remus shrugged. "It's a mystery."

"It's Peter's turn." Called Sirius.

Peter pulled up a box full of dung bombs. James grinned. "We need to make BIG plans for those! Oh, and Moony, it's your turn."

"Thanks, Prongs." said Remus. He got a wizard's chess set. Next was Lily, who got a lucky rabbit's foot that changed colors. The gang was cleaning up when James came up to Lily.

"Hey, Lily, I forgot to ask you earlier, but will you go out with me?" He flashed a smile.

Lily frowned. "Eff off, Potter."

"I'll take that as a maybe!"
